The flat spot

Happened against the panthers last week, was there again this afternoon - as difficult as it is to be a nit picker, given our last performances, we need to make sure that the concentration remains there for the full 80 minutes, the good teams will hurt us if we give them a chance…

Agree with this, for 15 minutes at the start of the second half we were dreadful. A decent side probably would've put us away. We did well to turn it around and win big though.

Agree about the flat spot in the last couple of games, but the thing is, we rarely have that happen against the top sides. The Tigers tend to keep up the intensity against the better teams, so hopefully it won't become a problem when we play them again. Don't know why it happens against the lesser sides all the time - maybe they know they have their measure and clock off for a while until the closing scoreline wakes them up! Who knows? One good thing though, is that the flat spot today against Parra was a fair bit shorter than it was against Penrith, by about 15 mins I would guess.

Today's 'flat sport' was all to do with refereeing decisions. Parra moved downfield on penalties, not by playing attacking football.

Playing against poor sides. There is no doubt we drop to their level at times. We have won the last 2 games in our sleep. I think with Lawrence, Ellis and Tuqiri out that was a professional performance. We are going to be VERY tough to beat in the finals. A menacing attack and a steely resolve that is growing in defence.

Utai passes to a support player instead of going himself and we are on our way to a 50 point win!.

Could not agree more, if not for the referees trying to even out the penalty count Parra wouldn't have scored a point against us.

The flat spot occurs when the young blokes tire or mentally turn off(remember they really should be in Toyota Cup). As we witnessed today, Mr Sheens brought on Gibbs & Flanno as soon as Parra hit 12\. His timing was the decision of a good coach to steady the ship.

It must be hard for an inform team yo compete tough for 80 minutes against the rubbish teams we have been playing.

We saw them focus for 70mins or so v Manly and Drags.

I have no doubt they would be a
Bit more intense if it were vs tougher opposition

What flat spot?

Are you referring to the period where Parra completed 11/13 sets and we had 1/3 sets.

Any team struggles when they have no possession and are defending for 15min straight.

Not helped by penalties and a strip on Beau that went against us.
