The Ladder....the shuffling ...

Here we are nearly at the end of round eight and currently we are sitting in fifth place after a very good win against the Dogs…

Dragons and Broncos both had good wins and are going very well..In my opinion,as the rep games are played I think the top four teams who have rep players in their sides, will start to feel the pinch of a hard drawn out season and with our young side improving every game and not to many of them will be selected I don't think (apart from Woods and Robbie) they can concentrate on their structure and game plans ...I did say in another thread,if we beat the Dogs on Friday night, which we did,the team will turn the corner and string some good wins together..they seem to have some confidence about them and do look like they play what's in front of them, albeit with guidance from Robbie...in saying what I have,I really think our team playing the way they did and having learnt how to secure a winning lead and muscle up in defence for the whole 80 mins, will DEFINATELY threaten a lot more of the fancied teams..

I'm not getting on the "we are finalist band wagon",however a top four finish is very, very much achievable as long as they stick to structure and play hard and solid for the entire games ahead..this could realistically be the best season in years the WTs have had..

I don't want to put a mocker on them, but they did show some good strength and intestinal fortitude on Friday night,it was pleasing to see, especially being such a young side.....

Robbie said it best..."after the Raiders game we could of hung our heads and let the game result get to us,however the whole team dug deep and corrected mistakes and made amends for the poor performance " ....therein lies the soul of the team.... :supporter:

Need to really aim up.
Can't see us staying top 8 with weak second half showings.

HOWEVER
If we play like we did against the doggies, we got it !

We need to improve. Our halves need to be more consistent and Moses needs to do more in attack and Brooks work on his defence.

We need a good bench and for the forwards to be getting on top throughout the whole game.

If that happens plus we get a good run with injuries we can make the finals.

A week is a long time eh?

The halves will have to run the show over origin….will be a big test, but one that I am confident they can handle.

We did look much better with Lodge back in the team, a bit more speed out wide and Lawrence to the bench.

Sue starting prop, Galloway to bench (Ava to NSW Cup), Naquaima to centre and Nofo to wing. Think we should stick with Lovett.

I'm not expecting a Top 8 , but i will take it as a Bonus reward for there effort throughout the year . Our young side will gain a valuable experience if this happens .

The way this Comp is going it is really crazy everyone can beat anyone ….. look at Manly last night they beat Storm in Melbourne  . We are going to get games like last week where we will hit panic stations and blame everyone and anything even the Mascot will cop it  . But it is the only way that they will gain experience on how it feels giving a 22-0 lead at home last week and not going on with it , it is the Character building they will gain from that which is most valuable .

We are not going to have a rest free Weekend next week either as i believe the following will be playing Representative Footy

Players i think will take part in Rep games ?

Test match Austalia vs Kiwi's
Aaron Woods , Taupau

City vs Country
Tedesco , Richards , Brooks , Sironen ,Farah ?

Fiji vs P.N.G
Naiqama

Tonga vs Samoa
Simona , Sauaso Sue , Ava

So potentially we could still have 11 players in action next week and prone to getting injured

The Ladder is even atm. We are In 5th place on 8 points and the bottom team Manly are on 4 points.
Out of the 16 teams in the comp, currently
11 teams are on either 6 or 8 points. Parra are only 2 points behind us and are in 15 place on the ladder, due to F/A. The ladder is so tight.

It's a tough comp.

Tigers keep on top the Raiders and Doggies leads and we are top of table.

Roosters lost 4 straight now but still very dangerous. Manly beat Storm at home, Dragons leading the comp after we towelled them Rd 2\. Too hard to tip.

Agree with all said. The tight ladder can work to your advantage, too. You string a few wins together and you can really climb places quickly.

6 away teams won this week.

Interesting that both Cronulla and Souths lead at half and both got run over. Did Monday night in the rain have an effect??????

Only tipped 2 wins this week
