The Luai dilemma...

Yeah I’m really torn. I’d love to see Luai paired with Madden in the halves, I think it would be exactly what we need to get the best out of Luai as you say, but I really think Doueihi has been our best player this season, he has to stay in the team. Sure Benji can shift him to centre, but will he really be as effective in that position with less hands on the ball?

AD has to be in the team for sure just not at half back. A roving centre / lock role would be the best fit for the team.

Most of his best work this season has been wide on the edges.

He had a horrible miss against souths which led to one of their opening tries.

Yeah he did but they are rare as hen's teeth tbh.

People will laugh but I think bringing back Sheens was the first baby step back towards credibility at the club. From there, there’s been a series of good decisions (and some poor ones) but a gradual improvement along a steady path. Api, Luai and a few others from strong systems were huge.

Hopefully this year is a giant leap forward.

Cannot agree with this whatsoever. The damage Sheens did to this club was almost irrepairable we're just lucky we had an operator like Richo come in & fix the mess he created. The 3 spoons are heavily on Sheens due to his poor roster construction and the fact he handed out top 30 contracts like they were participation awards for junior footy.

The WTs have adapted very well to V'landysBall /6again rules…or whatever you want to call it.
Even though against the Knights there was only a couple of 6 again’s.. there was still lots of run meters and thats been the case so far this season. A.D and Luai both have strong running games. Madden dig deep in the line and puts the ball out the front for the edges and backs to run onto. We look more organised when Madden is at 7.
Not sure what Benji is going to do at 4pm. We may even see a smokescreen with Madden name on the bench but plays 7 and Doueihi goes to centre.

Yeah he did but they are rare as hen's teeth tbh.

Luai is in credit in this area. Last year he saved so many tries with one-on-one tackles that had to be made. Could've been another spoon without him doing that.

Luai is straight back in for his defence, leadership and running game. AD took over last week both sides and this needs to continue.

I only want one thing this year; to take my extended family to watch the wests tigers play in the finals. Ideally more than one game. I've already informed the wife that I will be travelling interstate if required. I actually think we will finish top 6 and have atleast one home semi final.

THe South's game was an example of playing two 5/8 in the halves.

It resulted in no depth to our attack, no organisation and a rubbish kicking game.

Luai is the best 5/8 at the club by a country mile so that position is his when fit. He is yet to have the benefit of playing with a proper half back at the tigers.

Luai when partnered with a proper half back has 4 rings, State of Origin victories and Victories with Samoa.

AD isn't a half back. He is a a strong runner with an improving passing game. His kicking game is rubbish. Can't organise the attack let alone provide depth. He also tends to be sideways rather than straightening the attack.

He has operated as a 5/8 in every game this year, put what ever number you like on his back but he isn't nor ever will be a half back.

He needs to be in the team but should be humble enough to play where the team needs him and not demand to play where he wants to play.

Jock is a half back and by your definition he's been winning so should stay in the team.

It's not my only reasoning Lathami, I was citing an example. Just because I suggest Douehi move to the centres doesn't mean I am devaluing him as a dynamic, key member of the Tigers. He will have space and, hopefully, get lots off good service, enabling him to run, which is his go. Anyway, I expect Benji to stick with Luai and Douehi in the halves so you needn't worry.

He hasn't been man of the match at all, tell how many dally M points dose he have ?

He isn't a half back plan and simple.

He has played well but that's been off the back of decent go forward and a half back that actually straightens the attack and provides space. His running game out wide has been good and seems to be developing a passing game.

But to suggest we leave our highest played player out who has 4 premierships for a player has done 4 ACLs and didn't have more than a 1 year extension until the start of this year is ludicrous.....

I think Luai coming back into 6 is non negotiable. Not just my view but probably the entire Tigers club, starting with Benji. The only way Jarome doesn't play 6 is if he requests it, and even then Benji would probably say no.

At the end of the day if our forward pack are dominating the other teams pack then doesn't matter if Luai, Douihie or Madden are in there. Any pairing will do well. If Madden isn't in the starting side then think he should go back and play 80 minutes and reserves rather Latu as the 14.

I hope you get your wish! Me too, I'd like to see Madden and Luai in the halves but if I don't, it's nothing worth crying over. I'll still be watching on Saturday and cheering madly for Douehi, Luai and the whole team!

Yeah leaving out a 4 times premiership winner might not be the best option. Seeing Talangi get a bathe by the dogs the other night shows how much they miss Luais defence on the edges. His kicking game from 50m out down the left side is important as well. I think Luai and Madden with Douihie a roving centre would be the best.

Me too but, unfortunately, I don't think it will happen.
