The Marsters shuffle...

From what I have seen over the season he is definitely gravitating towards the second row ..just does not have the pace for a center ,have we finally found a reliable kicker.

Was going to mention this in the live thread, it was annoying me today, he steps and jinks and hops around on the spot when he needs to just run, half the time there's a half chance there but it closes before he gets there because of his jinking on the spot.
He needs to be more decisive and incisive and use his size and speed and power to bust tackles no his feet so much, use them at the line not before you even get going.

Ivan and the coaches must be seeing what we're seeing.

Gotta say that I agree with the suggestion in this thread that Marsters needs to reduce the frequency of his cutting back inside and hopping on the spot. It achieves nothing most of the time and gets a tad irritating. While he is solid overall, he should be encouraged to use his power, fend and late step at the line to beat the defence before offloading.

…that goes nowhere!!

I’m a big fan of Esan but he needs to grab the ball and run hard. He continually gets to the line and tries a little shuffle to get through but rarely does.

I know some are calling for him to move to second row but personally I think he will end up a very good centre, just needs to back himself. He has a great build and speed for a centre and if he attacks the line with some vigour and keeps his offload he will be very damaging player with plenty of attacking prowess!!

I think he will become a very good second rower.
He is doing a good job at present but we are way down on our centre stocks. So a temporary fill in for mine and he will flourish in the forwards.

Agree. I think he can develop into a really damaging edge running backrower.

If he doesn't run with much vigour and intent at the moment I'm not sure why people are so adamant he will be a success in the forwards, you get sat on your arse loping it up through the middle.
He is doing a fine job at centre, keep him there and let him grow into it with time.

4 from 4 with 2 from the sideline were crucial in the victory..always attracts defenders and bends the line..

Good game from him..

What impressed me today was the fact he proved he can goal kick under pressure. That sideline conversion in the second half was a big time kick.

Ran some really good lines in the Denver game.
We need to identify why that worked for him and get him to copybook the same style.

Agree needs to run the rowdy line. Would also like to see Eisenhuth hit the line harder

Christ is does my head in when people what him as a second rower .

He’s a CENTRE !

It took Lawrence forever to transition ..
Is that what you all want ?

Agree. Noticed the same.

We'd have to buy 3 or 4 good centres before he would even considered to go to the second row.

We have been very unlucky with centres the last 2 years, especially when you consider that Suli and Simona were thought to be our best 2 centres.Milne was another we signed to improve the position we lost all 3 to their stupidity.
Marsters is doing a decent job filling in.I would be amazed if Ivan is not looking at this area for one of his 2 main areas of recruitment for 2019
