The missing speech that has cost us two GFs and more........

Benji needs a half back who does all the boring stuff.

He kicks for field position.
He kicks for touch.
He decides the backs dont need the ball this set of 6.
He forces repeat sets.
He closes out the game.

Benji is our weapon. He needs someone else to play the percentages and decide when to unleash him.

Fantastic post, why couldn't the coach see this and go and buy a real halfback in the last 7 years?

Well, we did have a real halfback the last 2 years, at least one that was coming along nicely, until his off-field brain snaps.

Too true Tigerdave. He was turning out quite nicely…on field. The reason why we won 05 was because we had Benji off leash and Prince to do the percentage plays. Humble wasn't bad yesterday but clearly needs more time. Benji had an absolute whale of a game, created everything for us and did his best to get us across the line, sure he made some really bad choices at times but overall he was outstanding - the lead up play to the Ashyford try was tremendous, playing right side then sprinting over to left to make the next play.
It is the best we have played this season, but got pipped. Guess the Rabbits were owed one by the football gods for the roosters game earlier in the year. A tough season already but still time to turn it around. It's just going to be a case of cracking it for the next win, then the roll on starts.

This post is a joke. That might be fine if we arent getting beat with 10 to go. What then? "Benji, don't be your game winning, freakish self. Just find the line and hope we will win the scrum against the lose and feed." Wake up! We need to trust him. He will come good when the squad starts playing as a team and gain some confidence. That is all!

its the same players to cnx…do you get it...maybe they arent as good as people think

I don't agree mate. I think Benji has got the same level of natural skill as any of the game's greats.

He just hasn't developed or matured like most have. That comes down to coaching.

things have changed since 2010 have they?

the team as whole is playing poorly. Benji is a player that plays well when everyone else is around him..

love it how people try and be funny (eg you) and look for one particular player to be the fall guy

wake up!!

last year we lost 4 or 5 in a row.. Sheens was to blame.. we start winning and all the haters go into hibernation… funny that

every player has snaps..

Farah.
Marshall
Hodgo in SOO
Slater in WCC
Tallis
Gibbs has many

are we looking at the negatives cause the team is playing poorly… so in the mean time we wont look at all the good they have done

Benji HAS done plenty of good and it far outweighs the bad. That is not what the post is about, it is about a once in a lifetime player who, for some reason, cannot realise when he has already won us the game. Benji is now 27yo and should be making the right choice in that situation. I love him being a Tiger and I can live with the rocks and diamonds throughout the game but when it is all but in the bag, for goodness sakes just close it out!!

Like Stryker said, seems he needs a halfback who can make that decision for him when it is time to pull his horns in. I believe that is Miller.

Maybe we just need to have coaches making every decision on the field like in American sports. Don't they have coaches in the baseball telling the players whether to try going to the next base? Don't they have the coach calling the plays every single time in the NFL? That's what Benji needs - someone who is not physically drained making the right mental calls!
