The missing speech that has cost us two GFs and more........

Here's all Tim needs to have done…......................

**Sheens:** "Hey Benji, you have freedom to do whatever you want for the first 70 mins of games. Play what you see".

**Benji:** "Thanks for trusting me coach"

**Tim** "But in the last ten.................if we are ahead, play the percentages. That's an order. Don't do it and I'll find someone who will. Kick for touch, play a solid 5 hit ups. Get the forwards going forward. Play the percentages in the last ten when we are leading. Got it?

**Benji** : But I like to play what I......

**Tim:** Shut up and listen mate. Last ten, play the percentages. Got it. Watch Lockyer in the last ten and learn. Got it...play smart in the last ten. Percentages."

That's all he has had to do to have made Benji an immortal..............we'd likely have made grand fnals in 2010 and 2011 and won a hell of lot of close games we've lost.

"Do what you want for the first 70, but the final 10 when we are leading we play the percentages and win".

Prob why we signed Anasta…........

By then we'll have lost our best player in Ellis and Lote will be gone also.

We are truly on the verge of blowing a golden era. The talent has been there to make three GFs.

Listen how soft he is about Benji's brain explosion….................mentions dumb play but then waffles on to the refs.

Where's the anger? Where's the "this has happened too often?!?". Where's "Benji has done this multiple times now" and hold him accountable.

12 up with 9 minutes to go and first tackle we play wide over the sideline and that's NOT dumb??
Perfect field goal position
13 points up
game over

Exactly right mate. Same thing in the warriors semi. Deep kick and we win.

It's almost unbelievable at this point. I was chatting to your Mrs whilst the game was on…......we had it live here. I almost asked her to turn the TV off and spare you the pain

It's just ridiculous at this point. I don't think i've ever seen a professional team repeat dumb plays down the stretch of games. According to half the posters here the coach isn't responsible though. If not, then who is? I guess I need to look up in my dictionary what "coach" means again. I was pretty sure it meant something about getting players to 'learn' and Sheens hasn't done that.........

nah, it was all the ref's fault
or the weather
or the short turnaround
or some other cheap excuse
we're full of them

in here cnx…the coach is someone you blame for everything....for a few

who do suggest is responsible for the same mistakes happening for years?

bad luck? osama bin laden? george bush? referees? anyone but the coach?

it's the same mistakes year after year…..........not once or twice, but for years now.

that's not on the coach, right?

Fact is footy is an instinct. Controlling a game and manipulating the rules to gain an advantage is inbred. Cronk and Smith has it, Anasta has it, Wallace has it.

Benji has the instinct, but it is for touch footy.

Exactly right. We get a repeat set 10 metres out ,with 8 to go, and 12 in front. The decision should have between;
a) Hold on to the ball down their end and try to get another repeat set to wind down the clock or
b) set up for a field goal to close out the game.

However option c) was chosen. Go over the touchline on the first tackle to ensure the oposition have just enough time to beat us.

It is just not the last 10 where the safest option is often the best. We tackle our backside off and hold off Souths for a few sets of 6\. First time we get the ball back Benji chip kicks and Souths get the ball back in relatively good field position.

We never can adjust our game to suit the circumstances.

Benji needs a half back who does all the boring stuff.

He kicks for field position.
He kicks for touch.
He decides the backs dont need the ball this set of 6.
He forces repeat sets.
He closes out the game.

Benji is our weapon. He needs someone else to play the percentages and decide when to unleash him.

Yep. I have said since he came in that Benji = Brett Kenny. A freak who can do anything at any moment.

He's needed a real number 7 for years now.

WELL SAID 'STRYKER' WAKE UP SHEENS' thats exactly it! Benji is our weapon not our freakin organiser, he thinks with radical instinct but come on how often do we have to go through this to realise he does not have the brain to play percentage. FIX THIS PROBLEM and everything else will flow…. Bloody pathetic over and over WAKE UP.

its the same players to cnx…do you get it...maybe they arent as good as people think

I don't agree mate. I think Benji has got the same level of natural skill as any of the game's greats.

He just hasn't developed or matured like most have. That comes down to coaching.

hes got more natural skill then most greats actually…hes just no where as consistent.

its the way he plays the game you cant change it.

You can't coach a guy to not run to the touch line with 6 to go?

Or to kick on the 5th?

If somone is that 'uncoachable', then they must have a football IQ of about minus 60 or something.

He just needs a tough coach.
