The NRL must INTERVENE

Massive funding increase, perhaps triple what is being contributed now, for additional resourcing for recruitment officers, pathways, development officers and of course to recruit and retain young players. That is regardless of the owning entity.

I get that, and I also understand that failing is important for growth.

The board at HBG doesn’t understand that. They need to go.
I agree, HBG and the words “pursuit of excellence,” should not be seen in the same sentence. After buying the Apia soccer team, maybe they are planning for life without Wests Tigers? We can only hope and pray.

It's not looking good. There's a reason Shaun Mielekam was hired.

The HBG licence is part of a heritage deed, which runs out in 2030.

There are two possible outcomes in 2030.

HBG can request to change the club’s name to Wests Magpies, and the NRL can either approve or reject the request.

Alternatively, they can terminate their licence and take over the club’s administration, or allow a new owner to come in.

Considering how HBG has run the club, I think the second possibility is very likely to occur.
So what you're saying is we have to wait until 2030 before we can have hope again.

Just to be clear, I am not criticising or disrespecting the HBG debenture holders, and I'm certain that most of them would be decent human beings.

What i am only criticising and disrespecting is only this old autonomous type of governance which has been hampering the progress of our beloved WT and causing the suffocation of the multitude of fans from the disappointments for over the two decades.

It is this governance that looks so terrible for WT fans and not the debenture holders.
I like the suggestion that @Jolls made when he said "For mine the revolt has to come internally and by that it is likely that the Debenture holders themselves have to come to the realisation that they need to let Wests Tigers be run independently or that their system of governance is holding HBG (and Wests Tigers) back and they relinquish the reigns."
But i think that this would require another level of human decency, so again it is, The NRL must intervene.

It’s a results business and they’ve been abysmal owners, fans deserve better
