The race for the spoon

Since Juro hasn't been doing his thing for a while now and the rest of you are all walking around with dark clouds overhead I'm gonna point out the other end of the possibility spectrum.
The Tigers finally click.
Steph realizes he is a monster and starts running over the top of people. Bateman starts running forwards instead of sideways. Klemmer starts running instead of plodding. Seyfarth stops giving away dumb penalties. Douehi and Galvin form a great combination and start tearing teams apart.
Then....
We go on a run and win our remaining 8 games plus the bye and we finish up on 30pts which with our massively improved for and against (due mostly to the absolute shellacking of the cowboys) just scrapes us into the finals. The final game against pawwa in which we beat them by a record margin with almost all of the points scored straight over the top of Mitchell "pea heart" Moses until he throws a tantrum and runs off the field in tears vowing never to play the game again, the result cementing them as the 2024 wooden spooners. We then get narrowly beaten by the roosters in the first round of finals and they go on the be premiers only to be finally busted for completely annihilating the salary cap for the last 15 years and have all those premierships stripped and Uncle Nick is banned from the game for life and put behind bars for fraud.

And then you woke up!

I would love to see the spoon decided in round 27 at Campbelltown.
Especially forcing Parramatta to leave with it.
Tickets to that game could be very expensive 🤣
I'd love to see us win a few games and give it to parra well before then. We don't do well in pressure games, if it comes down to that we lose every time.

Well, to be brutally honest. When you give the coaching position to a club legend with no coaching experience as a PR stunt, you deserve everything you get.
Not just the media management/head coach, but most of the other positions.

What resume did Farah & Heighington have to get them gigs?

Strength and conditioning unit also needs an overhaul

Only one of the bottom four won and three of them lost on the weekend.
Souths and Titans have put a 3 wins gap between themselves, us and Parra. As we both have a bye in hand still, that lead is really 2 wins.
Interesting round coming up with another game between two bottom four sides, with Parra copping well needed bye points. Souths have the opportunity to eliminate themselves from the race with a win against us in Gosford. Likewise, we can climb the ladder with a good win ourselves, putting pressure on Parramatta. Titans play a red hot Manly and should be beaten. I would expect next time we post this table, the race is down to three.

I believe Benji would be a good coach or at least have the chance to be if he had some experience to help him. Even the roosters have Justin Holbrook as an assistant below Robinson.

It’s already down to 2 teams, our F&A has taken a beating last few rounds.

Souths & Titans are now 3 games infront + bye based on how big the F&A gap is.

This is true however mathematically they are still a chance. Souths flogging us this weekend should see them pretty much ruled out of the race.

Now that Moses has written himself off for the season I can't see the Slime winning another game other than perhaps against us in Round 27. This game will be a conundrum for WT's who traditionally never show-up for must-win games, but in this case winning that game could mean losing the spoon.

As expected, the race lost a participant with Souths making themselves safe with a win over us.
Titans lost but they are essentially safe as well however for giggles we'll still include them.
This weekend the bottom 3 sides have tough games. They should all lose and keep the race alive.

Titans have won 3 from their past 4 to completely scuttle my prediction that their tough run home could deliver them the spoon. Well done to them.
She's a genuine two horse race now as Titans and Souths are both too far ahead to catch.
Weve started with a loss and extended our differential to -247....76 points worse off then our rival Parramatta. They play the Warriors in Enn Zed this arvo at 6pm. A win for them makes life tough for us.

During the Madge era, you can blame Cleary for a couple of years but these 3 spoons are our own doing.

The whole club cares more about being in the news than winning. Winning is not the priority in any way.

Based on the draw Eels do have a tougher draw than ours so hopefully their F&A can shift. I don’t know where they get a win outside of beating us maybe.

If we can play with 13 for a game, not make dumb errors and score points like we have been doing we should get a win before season ends.
