The fact there was only one ref means those calls like the elbow and the dropped ball that got given a penalty will be called wrong more often. Wasn’t the reason we lost but raiders got more calls their way that’s for sure

I don't know how you can confidently say that the ref decisions were not the reason we lost. He sure as hell didn't help the Tigers' winning prospects.

We dropped plenty of the ball and quite a few of those penalties were legit. The ref certainly helped Canberra but you can’t blame that on us losing. We need to be better than we were, if we completed more of our sets and didn’t give away as many penalties maybe we win

Tonight was terrible, zero reward in the first half for being the dominant team, yet in the second half the ref rode the raiders home.

Terrible terrible ref

The ref was arrogant and full of his self-entitled importance. Did you see him mock a Reynolds question with an arrogant smirk and a shake of the head ....implying Reynolds asked a dumb question?

This will be a shock to his system but, ...I don't even know his name!! And, I don't want to give him any sense of importance or ackowledgement by finding it out. He was RUBBISH.

The influence of referees under the Vlandys/Annesley policy of one ref will be enormous. Tunnel balls for play-the-balls, a littany of forward passes from dummy half, players off-side on the blindside of the ruck.

At least with two refs, last night's twerp would have someone else on the field to counter his arrogant incompetence.

But, no, rugba league it is, now. Rugby League is dead. How one game can replace another after the commencmement of a season is beyond a joke.

There were just as many bad/missed calls on tunnelball PTB's, forward passes from dummy-half and offside players when we had 2 refs controlling the game though. Going back to 1 ref hasn't changed any of that. Incompetent/biased refs are still incompetent/biased whether there is 1 of the duds controlling the game or 10 of them.

Tapine dropped ball call changed the game.

Brooks was through off a MCK offload, and the referee calls a penalty to Raiders. Then doesn't allow for a bloody challenge!

How can a challenge not be allowed? Is that not against the rules? Should the club take this further?

Mbye came running over from his centre position and was arguing that Chee-Kam's arm was above the ground. The referee then said the decisions been made, so Mbye asked to challenge. The ref said thats not challengeable mate.

I found it strange that that wasn’t challengable. Those are the toes of calls that are perfect for the challenge m. Those no grey area it’s black and white. You have a look and no one can debate it. The league really needs to look at the challenge system and how it works.

Maybe Madge Madge should talk to the referees boss especially about the disallowed challenge.

What’s the point of having a ref’s challenge if you can’t question a decision like that penalty for passing of the ground.

See this is what I’m not understanding. I didn’t think there was any restrictions put on when a captain can make a challenge, I thought every decision was challengeable, but you just had to be wise in deciding when to do it.

Being told by the ref that his decision is not challengeable, when the rules clearly say that it can be challenged, is just arrogant and condescending. It’s also cheating and it was a contributing factor in us losing the match. Wests Tigers just lie down and take this crap without a murmur all the bloody time! We’re pussy cats, not tigers when it come to this sort thing and it’s cost us more often than not over the years.

Some noise needs to be made by the club about this. Get a public admission of wrong and an apology from the refs boss - it won’t give us the 2 points, but it will put them on notice that we are not going to take these bad refereeing decisions against us lying down anymore. If refs get publicly shown up for making obvious blunders, they may then think twice about giving us the rough end of the pineapple in future games because we will speak out.

It works for Ricky, Bellamy & Bennett - imagine if that happened to any of their teams, you’d never hear the end of it! No surprise I guess that all the 50/50 calls were in favour of the Ricky Stuart coached team. The inequalities between how clubs are officiated makes me really angry. Even more so because it’s completely avoidable if the refs would just do the job they are paid to do FAIRLY and CONSISTENTLY for both sides in every game.

The game has to be stopped, which it was due to a penalty. I think that the referees call was wrong.

The worst thing about that decision was the break in play. Brooks was off upfield and there was a very good chance we could have scored. Not only did we lose that opportunity but we also get penalised and told we can't challenge.

Whilst I agree Brooks didn't have his best game, it was a beautiful ball to put MCK into the hole and great backup to be there to take the pass.

I think this needs to be raised with the referee's boss.

No problem with it being called forward if it is forward. Just irks the hell out of me that certain teams get away with plenty of them every game. Whenever a commentator calls a ball "flat" it is their diplomatic way of saying forward. They should just call it forward IMO, put the ref on notice when it is let go time and time again. Those sort of calls cost games.

@Strongee ....mate!....that pass by Grant can't possibly have been forward, cause Cammy would have shown him how to pass the ball proper, and as we know....he aint ever thrown a forward pass....just ask the referees....they know cause Cammy tells them he Never throws forward passes.

Refs are giving penalties to every team except the tigers. We had 5 times were Canberra lied all over us to slow the play the ball down. No penalty given. What a joke NRL

So did Annersley comment on this game? Be very interested to see what he said about it....

Watching it I thought MCK's ball carrying arm didn't hit the ground and he wasn't called held so it should've been play on....at the very least he should've played advantage and if we scored referred it to the video ref....

Despite a couple of 50/50 not going our way....there was a lot of fair penalties and 6 agains that we conceded which caused us to lose.....our discipline should've been much better

Lol . Hey man , I just try to be honest about things , and not let my bias get in the way of the truth . Hypothetically if we were to hire Cammy as an assistant coach would we then get the run , if he does the Alfie langer running behind the defence the whole game ? ... just asking for a friend

yep he did

that call was challangeable which means we would of got the challenge correct

the Twal strip penalty which lead to packer getting sinbinned was apparently "correct". but twal literally had the ball in his hands when the ref called held

real sus

Haven’t watched the video but apparently the decision to not allow a challenge was................wrong, what a surprise.
