The Run Home

So this is the run home:

R15 bye
R16 Storm @ AAMI - Sun 4pm
R17 Panthers @ ANZ - Sat 5.30pm
R18 Dogs @ ANZ (away) - Sat 7.30pm
R19 Bye
R20 Dragons @ ANZ (away) - Sun 4pm
R21 Eels @ ANZ (away) - TBA
R22 Cowboys @ Leichhardt -TBA
R23 Titans @ Cambo - TBA
R24 Panthers @ Pepper - TBA
R25 Warriors @ Mt Smart - TBA
R26 Raiders @ Leichhardt - TBA

In summary, that is:
2 byes,
2 games against top 4 teams,
5 games against teams 5-8 (including Parra),
3 games against teams 9-12,
0 games against bottom 4.

In short, there are no 'easy' games and games against teams 5-12 will be doubly important, as a win for us would mean a loss for our direct competitors.

And we need to win 6 games to get to 28 points. 26 may be enough this year, if Parra get stripped, but we'll probably need to rely on F/A, which is another problem.

We will not win 6, but we might win four or five, we should at least have a few teams behind us and go into another off season full of confidence for the following year

If we win 5 out of the last 10 games….we'll probably end up coming 9th again.

I can see us winning the next ten, giving us 11 in a row and a new record.

Tigers v Sharks GF and the lights stay out at Cronulla for another year, and I clean up $1200.

I think we could win here
Panthers
Dragons
Titans
Panthers
Worriers
And Canberra.

It wouldn't be the first year we make the eight by beating Canberra.

We're a big confidence team. Would really love to see 14k+ crowds at the Cowboys and Titans matches. Could give us some momentum into late August and into a possible September berth.

At least with the draw we're not going to jag a top 8 spot. We'll deserve to be there if we can get the points, which I wouldn't have said in say 2007 or 2012.

We've been shocking off the bye/week off since the beginning of last year - will need to sort that out in Melbourne. Even if we don't win (I don't expect us to), we'll need a good performance from which to gain confidence and go on to the next few weeks.

We have a tough run in from here, and sadly I just can't see us doing it. Too many poor losses already.

I would rather be in front by a cricket score. It would be much better for my blood pressure

You could add the Eels to that list. Their season is a train wreck now. We play them after Norman's court date too, so quite likely they'll have both their starting halves out.

6 more wins would get us equal 8th on competition points, there'll be a few teams on 28\. We'd need to win those 6 games by an average of 12 points to sort out our F/A.

Unless we can get a couple of blowout wins I think we'll need a 30 point finish. If we can beat the Storm we'll be in good shape.

Going back to 2009 there has only been 4 teams to finish on 28 and not play finals, Tigers in 2009 (29 cut off), Dogs 2011 (on F/A) and Warriors and Parra in 2014 (both on F/A)

Chances are 28 will do but it's not a sure thing.

Surely the Parra situation would give us a better chance.

It does, since we're now effectively chasing 9th position. We might even bradbury through on 26 in 9th place, but I'd rather 30 points to rule out F/A as a possible factor.
