The Spine 2022 season...

I know we have a fair way to go before we have a decent NRL standard spine compared to the major teams such as Melb,Roosters etc...However in my opinion after watching the last trial,Liddle Brooks Hastings and Laurie could finally be what we have been searching for...
Liddle has enough experience and knowledge now to be competative in the NRL,he just has to stay injury free...
Brooks has finally got someone who lets him play his game without overcalling him and his natural game is his running game...I cant wait to see him run more this year without the pressure on him to win every game every week..
Jacko Hastings,a deadset demon in the 5/8 position who will help Brooks enormously in the games,has experience knowledge and a heck of a footy passion to win...
Laurie...deadset legend and gutsy f/b,will be even better this year and you can be sure he wont let you down in the back...
I have to mention that AD is still coming back,but dont know where he will go,if Jacko is killing it at 5/8 how can you put AD there and dump Hastings...
Madden played a great game the other night and I will stick my neck out and say the Hastings influence helped him as well,but he will carve up NSW cup and be a very useful backup for us...

Any thoughts guys or am I off the mark....

In my opinion Simpkin will force his way into the spine. Seen him upend Radley in that game in a show of toughness you just don’t get from Liddle. I like our spine this year but as always need our forwards to stay in the arm wrestle or we’ll have limited chances in attack. AD will probably go to centres if Hastings is in form.
 
Was impressed with Hastings in the trial. No frills attitude and put in a solid performance, and should improve as he gels further with the team. But definitely appears to be working well with Brooks at this early stage.

Liked his interview at the end too. Wasn’t full of fluff and told things as they were - not getting carried away with the trial performance, acknowledged Roosters missing players etc. He looks focussed and is shaping up as our best addition to the halves pairing in years.
