I think he's pretty safe under the high ball for the most part ( when he has his contacts in), it's just that his kick returns are not that great, hardly ever makes a break, displays no real pace, has poor support play, bad positioning in defence and gets rag dolled a lot.

Other than that he's fine and certainly doesn't lack courage for the most part and keeps openly stating that he wants to stay here.

Of course he wants to stay here because he knows we have buckley's chance of getting anyone better and that this is his best chance anywhere in the NRL to get paid overs and get full back money.

I read an interesting article about the Storms/Bellamy’s process when signing players and they are meticulous. Looking not only at a players ability but also heavily factoring in the temperament, personality and attitude of a player.

The club always seem to sign players who fail in one of these areas or another. The majority of them just don’t seem to be committed to the club at all.

Has been forever - always going for the shiney, flashy players instead of the grafters with never say die character. The kids with all the talent never have to do the work, as soon as it gets tough they’re not up for the contest. Same goes for the real big kids… could see blokes like Curran licking their lips at us today!!
No one there wanted the battle - only Garner… Daine “park footy” Laurie doesn’t give a stuff at all…

Safe under the high ball?
You mean he lets it bounce a few times so that he’s safe…
 
I don’t know what people expect these players have Hardly played together seriously there has been a different hooker every week Laurie was out for a long stint doughi has been back for 2 games

If next year we pick and stick with our spine we will be far better off

Api is currently 1 of the best hookers In the game

We know what Hastings is cable of

Doughi is a great ball runner and has potential to be a fantastic 5/8

And we all know what laurie is cable of he just needs to mature a lot he can be a great player for us

That is a great spine give them 5-10 games together and we will look way way better

None of them (apart from API) are anywhere near competition average in their position…
Laurie is not in the top 20 fullbacks in the comp - and that’s being generous.

Look at all the top teams in the comp they have settled spines who have all played with each other for a number of years

Seriously with some decent coaching and abit of api magic this spine will turn around

I don’t think if it would make a lick of difference if the spine today played every week. It’s the worst in the comp.

If api doughi Hastings and Laurie played together for every game this year we would be in a far better position we definitely wouldn’t be battling for the spoon

History tells me it goes like this - API gets sick of busting his hump for this dumb, lazy, outclassed football side and starts going through the motions like the rest of them.

Not 1 winner amongst them…
Best bit of being a pro footy player - is all the video games you can play in the downtime
