**Kiwis captain Jesse Bromwich and Kevin Proctor allegedly bought cocaine after Anzac Test, Canberra man charged**
>
A Canberra man has appeared in court after allegedly selling cocaine to two high-profile rugby league players after the Anzac Test last night.
>
Kiwis captain Jesse Bromwich and fellow player Kevin Proctor allegedly joined Canberra man Adrian Mark Crowther in Canberra's city centre.
>
Police allegedly observed Crowther on CCTV video preparing a white powder on his phone, before handing it to the two men, who rolled up bank notes and consumed the substance.
>
While both players were named in court, neither has been charged with an offence.
>
The men were in town to play the Anzac Test at GIO Canberra Stadium against the Kangaroos.
>
Crowther was also charged with possession of MDMA and was granted bail despite police objections.
>
He will be back in court later this month.
>
The Melbourne Storm, who Bromwich also plays for, has been contacted for comment.

Coke is an epidemic in the game.

Too much money and idle time. A recipe for disaster.
I think the NRL should promote players to re-enter the workforce mid week. This would also prep for life after football.

its interesting cocaine seems fairly commonplace amongst nrl players. i know Demps wrote in a post that it is rife.. well, drugs, not coke specifically. (dont mean to libel you Demps!!)
i have read an article somewhere about cocaine use as a performance enhancer. will look it up, but i think it gets out of the system very quickly and has benefits for sporting performance.
lol… sounds like i am advocating it!! im definitely not.

http://www.michaelshouse.com/blog/athletes-may-use-cocaine-to-gain-an-edge-in-their-sport/

Studies that have analyzed how cocaine impacts athletic abilities have actually determined the drug decreases the user’s performance. This is because cocaine makes the user feel so good, they perceive everything around them in a better light, including their own abilities. Researchers found cocaine to diminish an athlete’s strength, endurance and overall performance, despite the user’s distorted perception that they were improving. It also impaired the body’s ability to regulate its own temperature.

nope. guess it is just that it leaves the system quickly. i know thats why Ben Cousins used it.
good example of why not to use it too…

And now two Canberra players in trouble.

I am sure they will manage to tie in that both players drove past Wests leagues club once on their way to Annandale to get a coffee

Seems some other clubs will take our place in the media spotlight for a while.
Sharks, Titans, Storm so far

So the seller was also charged with possession but the players who bought it weren't???

Hmmm

I don't think they can prove money exchanged hands.
All that was captured was lines being snorted off a iphone or whatever.

The guy charged didn't get charged with dealing, just possession.
They can scrape the players noses for evidence of possession lol.

Be interesting to see what Rothfield says about Keogh, he said our club was poorly run and needed a good strong leader like Keogh. He will conviently gloss over the Keogh one and talk about the players who got caught

Couldn't agree more.
Used to keep players occupied and fit.
Either that or get some sort of qualifications outside football - one thing Tedesco is doing right.
Otherwise a lot of current players will be running to Men Of League after retirement.
