The utmost respect

Both Trodden & Humphreys claim they, the club and players all have the ''utmost respect'' for Tim Sheens and what he's done for the club in his time here.

But is relegating him to a lower position within the club, while bringing in a far less experienced & younger person to replace him in his job showing him respect?

Put yourself in Sheens shoes, you would surely feel demoralised, you'd hardly feel respected, youd feel like the cross around your employers neck they have to bear, all because they offered you a generous deal and are now changing their mind and backing out of it.

Not to mention they havent even got a replacement for him…."Youre out Tim, youre making way for ....err...someone" :unamused:

The way this club apparently seems to treat its staff imo is deplorable... Gibbs, Fafita, Moltzen, Ryan, Heighno, Sheens....contract negotiations with the club forever seem to be shrouded in controversy, ''he said she said'', nothing is clear cut....seems to be much deception and not a lot of ''being up front''.

The question.

How are they treating Sheens with respect?
Or are they just talking about all the other times, and NOT now?

Agree Ink.. A true sign of respect and honesty would be to say .. Sorry Tim we signed you up for a further 3 years , stopping you from going to the Panthers and securing a similar deal and $ and have now changed our mind so to be fair we will pay you out the balance of your contract

Tigers way of thinking
"We don't want you,but we don't want anyone else to have you either unless we can release you so we save money"
?????
Hopefully warriors deal comes through for Tim

They can't come out and say that no one likes him, he's lost the playing group and they want him gone. That would scare off anyone coming to coach us.

If they appoint Parish that will be the last straw with Humphreys.

I dont care how they treat Sheens to be honest, i wanted him gone any way possible. But the handling of contracts is a concern and if Parish gets the job while there is many reliable report the guy is bad news the club is obviously in bad hands. I bet they give him a 3 year contract too. But in saying that, ill support Parish if he gets it and hope for the best and hope he's learnt from his past mistakes of handling players.

All the lies being reported in the media havent helped matters, but surely they ( the board ) could have handled this whole deal with more class. Some honest comunication with fans and sponsors for a start . When there is no comunication it only serves to raise speculation that they are hiding something. Without ails it certainly does look as though Sheens has been treated with little respect.

Thats the other extreme…..what Humpheys said was the positive extreme, what youre saying is the other end.
Somewhere in the middle surely would be more diplomatic, less treating everyone like mugs pretending theres no BS....and the club looks all the better for it

And they are just the high profile ones you know about. Having played with and against a few of the junior players I can tell they are not exempt from the same treatment.

The disrespectful punting of those players were the work of Tim sheens himself. So now you have tears for him for copping some of his own medicine. Pleeeeeease
Tim sheens made a gentlemans agreement to walk if they didn't make the eight. Well they didn't and he refused to walk unless they paid him out. How can you respect that.
The "new role" in the club never existed. That was just for the media to give him some kind of dignity . They wanted it to sound like he walked instead of being punted.
I agree that our club is run extremely poorly, but especially when they extended sheens contract a year ago.

Gentlemans agreement?
Or an off the cuff statement?

I agree that our club is run extremely poorly

Yep, youre right, they shouldve got it in writing

No tears for Sheens, you havent been here long hey….just a discussion point.

The "new role" in the club never existed.

Good to see Sheens at the ground today supporting Payten's NYC crew.

Yeah i noticed that too. Maybe to see what players he's taking with him to the Warriors.
Deep down i think he loves this club. As much as his time is up have the utmost respect for him.

By all accounts, we can't afford to pay him out. And his position was untenable.

Its possible to respect someone but be in a position where difficult decisions are made. Its not like we are keeping Sheens around for laugh is it….

LaT the laughs were each and every tues arvo
The sooner he's outta here the better
LOL at all the teary eyes
