@hobbo1 Reynolds is hopeless and costing us a fortune. Hooker is probably the position we need to fill above any others.

So, the question must be asked... why is that consistently our issue?? It can’t be money, it can’t always be resources or coaching class because we’ve able to sign marquee’s too; they just never seem to perform for years on end - except old mate Gareth !
Even bigger question is why can’t we attract a top marquee player ?
I’d say it’s because we’re a proven basket case of a club ..
And please no one say “ Ryan Matterson” says hi !
I’m talking the likes of Lattrel Mitchel or a player like Inglis when he joined Souths ..
Souths were a rabble before Inglis joined them .
We need to get the house in order and get the ball rolling ..
Pretty much our entire squad is made up of the same caliber of players ..
Plodders and nuffies .

Its the stigma of just playing for the Tigers which plays a huge role. I reckon its 90% of the reason its hard to sign quality. I currently live in Newcastle, about 3-4 months ago I was having an informal lunch with an old client on my day off [many beers] at Wests League club in Mayfield when the Knights showed up for their lunch after training at the local ground. I had my Tigers Jersey on which has a few signatures on it so naturally it started some friendly conversation about some of the Tiger players on it, i told them I knew a couple of the blokes at the Tigers that they also knew and it lead to some banter with a few of the lads that sat at the table next to me. Pearce, Ponga, Guerra and Coach Brown. I asked the 3 players why they wouldnt play for the Tigers and why they chose to go to Newcastle. Pearce said laughing, cause of his Dad but all of them said Tigers have no chance to play in the finals, not in their playing lifetime, which made me laugh as they were playing for Newcastle but thats how bad it is! Players would rather play for other garbage teams then us! The facilitates are apparently lacking a great deal compared to many other clubs and the lifestyle/area isnt so attractive compared to say living in a Penthouse in a 1 team town on Newcastle beach with a plethora of attractive bikini clad young girls hanging around your doorstep 8-9 sunny months of the year.
1. Stigma of being a losing team ie, Crap roster
2. Facilities
3. Lifestyle
They need a complete broom through the place which I believe is happening at the end of 2020 and then they need to sign 10-15 players to change the culture.

marty taupau signed with manly 12 months before the end of the contract and tigers pretty much said, leave now and not after 12 months. he simply went where there was more money offerred.

I think it's more about getting a couple more players. We have some class players. We just need a couple more.
There’s only 5-7 players I would keep
In no particular order
Brooks
Mbye
Garner
Matterson
Mikaele
Nofo ( just )
Aloiai
Chee Kam ( bench only)
The rest are puss !
* Marshall one more year *
