The worst thing about following a crap club

Very astute observation Hank, I feel exactly the same. We just seem to be treading water each week with no appreciable change. Surely if something doesn’t work it’s better to try another option but we seem to do the same things over and over and expect it to suddenly change. I’m calling that a coaching issue but it is very, very, very annoying and frustrating.
It’s interesting when I watch the Warriors how they seem to move on from one thing to another, ALL AT PACE. Maybe that Websters got something, wonder where he came from ?
I'll will say there was something I saw last game that made me pay attention and that was watching one of the forums whipping boys Alex Seyfarth actually doing what to me looked like actually having a go at being a ball playing lock.

Laugh at me if you like but I thought it was refreshing to see the big ranga show a bit of spark running and passing at the line because he's not what you would call a tackle busting forward by any stretch of the imagination and maybe a bit of ball playing is what he should be doing. Mixing it up a bit and keeping the opposition guessing would not be a bad thing.

Actually liked what I was seeing and wonder if this was a one off or are we going to see more of this and if it becomes a regular thing and even more importantly if it can be a longer term success or if teams can shut it down easily.

Oops. Having been a member for 53 years, You’ve no doubt seen it all. I’ll take your advice. The H word and Wests Tigers shouldn’t be used in the same sentence. Got it.
I agree with Happy, we’re looking at the spoon in 23 and 24, so there won’t be much to cheer about.
The sad part about having Wests Tigers loyalty is watching the club struggle and being powerless to do anything about it.
Supporting the club only encourages mediocrity, while protesting and rejection creates an empty feeling. A loss of spiritual belonging.
I’ll give the protesting a go for a while longer?
2040. I wasn't having a dig.
That was a genuine observation of mine when I got sick of saying I hope this, or, I hope that happens and it never did. In a sense i was feeling precisely like your observation of; "The sad part about having Wests Tigers loyalty is watching the club struggle and being powerless to do anything about it." with my point being, nothing has changed and I still feel the same several years later.
Yes, 53 year membership. Impressive isn't it? I joined predictively before the club existed. Just don't ask for a prediction of when we'll next make the finals.

Worst thing is a day like this...

Nofaluma finally out a while...so we end up with AJ, who is an atrocious winger in...and Naden, who barely even tries, on the bench. Worst outside backs in NRL history....

And then you think:

Nofa 500
Naden 400
AJ even on min is 200...but probably 300 with us...

And you suddenly realise we are paying 1.2 million or so for state cup outside backs.

And then you realise further that Pascoe and co signed off on all those deals...

And are still in their jobs...and likely to recruit the same level players again...and again...

I sometimes feel like this too.

But I watched the Titans v Dolphins game. Really exciting, pleasure to watch. Restored my faith in NRL a bit.

Hoping Origin 3 has that effect too.

Good game from Seyforth, one of his better ones. Will watch Friday with interest.

I am finding this season for the first time ever I can't be bothered watching games apart from our game each week.I have always liked watching the top sides playing each other simply because I love rugby league. But this with our team being garbage some weeks plus the ridiculous selection decisions by sheens I can barely watch our games and couldn't care less who wins the other games and this saddens me If I wasn't so hopeful of our youth coming through I don't know how much longer I could continue to watch the Game I have loved for 60 years
I feel exactly the same. I rarely watch a full game, including the Tigers for obvious reasons, on a weekend. I used to look forward to the start of the season, but my interest has waned a lot over the last 4-5 years. This is perhaps collateral damage from the disaster that has been our club for the best part of twelve seasons. I hope things can turn around for the Tigers, and then maybe my interest for the game will reignite.

Sounds like at this rate there will be very view at our games and ratings will slide.
All very negative for the future( especially added to a team with no standouts and a very poor win record).
Maybe us Golden oldies got the best of our clubs . Does that qualify for “the good old days” ?
I hope not !
