The WT Identity

The warriors who wore the black and white and the black and gold in the past must roll over in their graves with shame when they hear the words Wests Tigers uttered .....almost a blasphemy for some no doubt ......

Even if a certain concept of identity seems to offer better potential it doesn't necessarily mean dividends will be reaped.

Ultimately, what's the point of debasing our identity and depersonalising our club after Wests and Balmain fans have already had to endure this type of a process, and current WT fans love the club as is, to change things around for the hope of a better catchment, if we are alienated and disenfranchised............once again.

Better as Jirskyr said make these localities and areas align with our interests and keep everyone happy...........from whichever viewpoint they follow our club.

The chief resource the club has is the strong passion the club's fans have (hence why articles like this bite) whatever introduction they have to the club. If the club trades this for a supposed bigger nursery then they become nothing to us and will more than likely fade into oblivion.

No doubt.
I don't feel it's blasphemous but it's not what I originally signed up for. When I see old Maggies games from Lidcombe on YouTube it's so unbelievably good, I sometimes can't imagine I was that privileged to witness it and am embittered I lost it.

But really it's a sad reflection of Sydney which has lost nearly all it's identity on they idea it's good for the economy.......But what good is it if we have lost our Sydney and it's given to others. The same shouldn't happen to our club.

That's why the identity of this club must provide an outlet for all our stakeholders whether they be WT fans ,Wests or Balmain supporters, Wests fans from Liverpool Campbelltown whatever even if we run last every year ,otherwise whats the point. In any case the dogs and eels have run last more than us and whats their identity.

On Westslife podcast they were saying direct from Chairman Lees mouth that there tigers will be at either Liverpool or Campbelltown. Club preference was Campbelltown but government was more interested in Liverpool as a shared ground with the bulldogs. Personally if those were the two options I’d just move to Campbelltown now for all but a couple of games and lobby the state and local government for an upgrade of Campbelltown. I don’t want to share a ground with the Dogs

Sharing with dogs same as sharing with parra.

How can it be the same unless it was on the belmore site?

I can state that as its a guess, I didn't say I was right lol

On this day: Wests Tigers played their first ever NRL game. The following article pays tribute to that team. I've also included this for anyone who's interested in reliving it.

I used to have gold blood and black eyes, now I'm so Wests Tigers gold black and white I dont think i could change back.
Wests were always my second fav team, well put it this way if we weren't playing, I'd go for the magpies. The joint venture was good.
The tigers talked about merging with Parra and roosters, I was going to give it away...thank god tiges and maggies merged 👍

After trial 1 of development type player? Meh!
The players who mattered were Stefano, Pole. Matamua etc...a reasonable hit out for them. The backs were more disappointing that there were no real standouts, tell me if I'm missing something please 🤔
