what im tired of is people saying oh folkes had these players ricky had these players bellamy has these player blah blah blah
those clubs recruited well, another flaw of sheens, and isnt it the point of winning games that you have a good team to coach? we have a good team over half of them have played or currently play rep footy
sheens was handed a raiders team full of stars, so is his work there more credible then stuarts at the roosters?
its funny how alot of you say these coaches were sucsessful only because they had start studded teams but neglet the fact that alot of them coached these players from a lower level up to grade or picked up left overs from other clubs and turned them into the stars they are and have reaped rewards of premierships for it
melbourne storm sure they paid overs to keep their players and got caught but slater inglis smith cronk falou hoffman white all debuted for them in FG even a couple of their premiership props were WT rejects who no-one here wanted
sheens had the perfect platform to build from in 05 and since its all gone backwards and to me though they wont say it seemed to have lost faith in coach sheens
I think I get dumber every time i am put through reading one of your mind numbing inaccurate rants. I have never really felt the need to post on this forum but you just throw your opinion around without ever even slightly considering the other side of the argument.
It's quite clear from reading your posts that you can't grasp the effect the salary cap has on the nrl, according to your logic every premiership team from 2001 to 2005 failed to take advantage of their "perfect platform". Newcastle, Bulldogs, Penrith, Roosters and us all experienced premiership success and then watched their squads get pulled apart, lost major talent, pay over for promising players that were not really at the level they were being payed and lost the ability to bring in new players. In fact the first team to experience constant success was Melbourne and now we have a very clear understanding of why.
In regards to the storm I couldn't agree more that they are brilliant at developing talent, seeing talent in players that no other clubs do and their recruitment of young players is second to none. But the salary cap doesn't care about that, if I had my way there would be a draft system and big concessions for developed/long serving talent, but that is not the point of this thread. The reason that the All mighty Bellamy was so successful is because he was able to keep every bit of talent that he developed unlike other clubs, he was able to keep his second tier talents so his club had superior depth and he was able to keep his talent while bringing in quality first grade players such has Croker, Finch, Quinn, Newton, Lowrie. Wow a club which is able to retain top tier talent, keep second tier talent, keep their juniors away from other clubs and bring in recongnised first graders. If the tigers could of kept Prince, Hodgson, Laffranci, Hofffman and a endless list of others I think even you could coach us to the top 8.
I don't care that you don't like sheens, I understand why people are frustrated and respect your opinion. I jsut wish others on this forum would respect our opinion and atleast pretend to hope we succeed this year.
