Getting rid of Taylor is one thing (i dont agree by the way), but getting Toovey on board? FMD. Ive seen some crap posts (and some were mine) but this is up there!

Toovey has a pretty impressive coaching record, and he is light years ahead of Taylor, and he isn't frightened to bag the refs or drop non performers.
On those few points alone I can't see where you are coming from.

You can bet Fulton will be lobbying for Toovey to take over from Sheens as Australia's coach.

Thought Sheenious was already ousted as Aus coach with his move to Superleague in the UK?

The one thing I don't know if this is a hangover from the years of wonderful coaching from Hassler. It would be like someone taking over from Bellyache or The Nick Polidis crew. At least 2 seasons of rinse lather repeat, then the people/man management aspect comes out and you can tell the rats from the mice.

Toovey inherited a team already on the top of their game and has gone downhill ever since. He didnt have to build the team. He is the equivalent of Ricky Stuart who gets a good team and then after a short time, they implode.

Toovey has not been able to handle the board or any of the ego's at Manly. Players on good money have left to go elsewhere. Stewart, Watmough, Foran and others. DCE was going but by the time he changed his mind, Toovey was already out the door (and money was a factor too of course) but he did want to leave. He didnt have the nouse to manage that stuff.

Bagging the refs, like Stuart, Hassler and some others is just a front as you would know. It gets you nowhere. Especially now when it isnt allowed. Blaming someone else for your mistakes is pi$$weak and boring, and eventually it gets you back.

Why has his own board been plotting to get rid of him since the start of the year? Because he hasnt got a personality or the man management skills.

I'll stop at accepting him as a good assistant or similar, but he isnt a first grade coach IMO. Maybe one day in a safe club with strong board and everyone going in the right direction….but does that sound like us?

like us?

Spot on , very Similar to Ricky Stewart who ran the Australian team into the ground as he had no clue on how to coach.
He had all these super stars in the team who he coached out of winning

Can't agree with that - Hasler saw the writing on the wall with the ageing roster and massive problems with the board and jumped ship.
Anyone else but Toovey would have gone down the gurgler much quicker.
