I hate the argument that Wests should be grateful to Balmain because they saved them, because Balmain made the criteria.

I ask, then why did Balmain merge with Wests. Balmain knew they were on the chopping block just as much as the Magpies.

You're still living in the past. Let it go, there are more important things to worry about than events which took place 13-14 years ago.
 
Some people won't rest until we get 50/50 on everything.

The majority just want us to be one club, not matter which side of the JV comes out in front on some particular issue. Seems some people can't help but keep score.

Heres an example for you. Often lately on here I read "the clubs financial situation", which is right, its the "clubs" its "ours". But when fans didnt show at Campelltown it was because the "Magpies" didnt turn up. How does that work? There probably isnt any venom in it, no malice, and possibly accidental, but it re-inforces that the sentiment is still out there, that we arent paranoid in feeling like the red-headed step brother sometimes.

Well unless you are adding up everything in mathematical terms it's really untrackable and impossible. The team is based in Concord, so that area is going to have a lot of the intrinsic Tigers association, The Magpies are wealthier, so they are going to have more boardroom stroke going forward. So be it. He's right, there is no need to keep score.

Humphries said the 'local' community didn't turn up - and I think that's the point of most people on here.
If you read local as 'Maggies' and not 'WestsTigers' supporters then that is your take on it.

Black and white… if it makes u feel better, as a wests tigers supporter originating from teh Balmain half of the merger, i love the maggies as much as the balmain tigers hence = wests tigers

I do agree that the Tigers, have to do more to engage the cambletown/maggies supporters.. i read an article that two years ago the parramatta harold mathews team had 9 western suburbs juniors in the team... + the crowds at cambletown in recent times have been very average...

So to all you former maggies supporters, what is it going to take to make you feel more appreciated?

I have only ever been a Wests Tigers supporter so the only association i have with the magpies, is I live in the Campbelltown area. My personal opion is that the Wests Tigers need to have greater connection to the region - this is a difficult task as there are a lot of young familes buying houses at this way that already support rival NRL teams. A long term vision is needed to win the kids over so that they want to play, support and identify with the Tigers. This will take MANY years to achieve. Additionlly, Wests Tigers need to ensure also that they get the pick of the western suburbs juniors, the amount of Polynesian kids from Claymore, Airds, Aschroft etc who have contracts with rival NRL clubs is astounding (worse still is when they are born and raised in these areas and then are listed as "juniors" of these clubs, instead of "kidnapped" by talent scouts). I know we cannot retain them all. But more needs to be done so that we get the prime selection, so we take advantage of what we have, so that we continue to have success.

Sadly, the Magpie/Tiger agenda wars which appear on this forum frequentley will continue to be argued until the majority of the Wests Tigers supporter base have only ever known and or supported the Wests Tigers. Hopefully, the Wests Tigers are successful on and off the field and that factional infighting amongst JV and supporters does not disable the growth and security of the Wests Tigers within the NRL. We need to position ourselves as rationalisation of the number of Sydney teams will eventually happen and the Wests Tigers need to make sure that our long term planning is inline with the NRL vision.
 
The way i look @ is we are Wests Tigers, a combination of both, we have to become one. Look be proud of our past but even prouder of our future, so it doesnt matter if you live @ Campbelltown,Rozelle, or Burwood or Woop Woop just support the Team & try & go to as many games as possible where ever they are & forget the pettyness.
 
I think the frustrations from Ex-Magpies supporters and people who live in the south west were highlighted today in the article about ''Farah chooses Leichhardt for life''. We always here how much the players love Leichhardt and rightly so, its been around forever and has so much history, yet you never hear boo from them ever about C-town, or the very few times you do, you can tell its been force fed to them by the club, its not something that has come straight from the heart. I'm not saying they MUST feel the same about Cambo, but they should at the very least try to appear enthusiastic about the place

I've heard the Magpie diehards blame the poor crowd on the way WT's have treated the area and at first i thought that argument was a load of crap but the more i think about it the more i think they have a point, the Farah article is proof. How are people from the area suppose to read comments from the club Captain ignoring them and showing no recognition or pride at being able to continue to represent them. The players have no connection towards the area and could care less about it that much is obvious. But i'm sure i'll still be told by some old dinosaurs to get over it and move on. Pretty easy thing to say when you're not in that position

We have supporters from everywhere.
As I stated earlier I know WTs fans from Manly Souths Bulldogs Parra Penrith districts….Im sure theres many I dont know that also come from these areas and other areas also that didnt turn up....as well as locals.

....how does he know its just all the locals didnt turn up?

How does he know who didnt turn up and better still....where theyre from?

Who was consulted and who protested for hours against the one 2013 sunday game going to Cambo?

I think people need to be really honest with themselves, (not pointing any fingers here) there are some things WTs supporters as a whole are happy with and unhappy with, but there are also some - from both sides - that take joys or more to the point are indifferent in one half being unhappy when really we should all be wanting the entire fanbase to be content...it has to be better overall for the entire operation - club -team -fans. A dream yes I know.

There is still many apron strings not cut from a lot of us

Get used to it....this isnt going away magically overnight, its generational.
