Tbf to Gus, while the result was never in doubt, the good teams don’t concede 18 points in the second half after keeping the opposition scoreless at half time.
What are you talking about, happens all the time, unless you only Penrith. Everyone else concedes in short periods, it's part of the modern game.
E.g. this week Storm conceded 12 second-half on Thursday to Broncos, of all sides, when up 16-0 at HT. Rd 1 Storm were up 22-6 over Rabbits, won 28-18. Storm Rd 4 30-6 HT over Bulldogs, won 52-18, and at that stage Dogs had only scored 16 points the previous 4 rounds. Rd 7 vs Warriors 26-4 at HT, won 42-20. Now these are all pretty comfortable wins but Storm regularly concede 10-20 points in second half.
Even last night Souths up 20-6 at HT, could have really nailed the result, second half was 18-14, won 38-20. Some Tigers fans are disappointed with a similar performance against Dragons.
Obviously it's not realistic to expect a side like Tigers, how we are currently, to put together 2 complete halves in a single match, when we can't even string wins together yet. But I put it to you that most teams can concede significant amounts of points during momentum swings in the current game, and it doesn't seem to matter whether they were ahead or not, so you want to be some 20+ points ahead, if you can, before the opposition eventually gets some run of possession.
