This years key to our success......

Kicking game is the big issue, especially the short kicking game. It’s about vision, timing and communication and To be really good you need it to be in your D&A, although a ton of practice will help but it will not make you great at it

The key to our success is the number 9, if he can't march the forwards and get us on the front foot, .. then all our backs won't see much of the ball. So our prop rotation is critical .. Packer, Matulino, Twal and (4th prop .. whoever it is ??) has to gain the ascendancy in the ruck and lead us forward. Once this happens I believe we have the strike power in our halves and out wide to get us home.

We need consistency in our performances to better bridge the gap between our outstanding games and poor games. Playing consistently good football will get us in the 8.

There are heaps of things but I think that three stand out.

Defense and playing together in defense. Even where we have improved our defenders (namely 5/8) they still need to play well together. It's those defensive reads between Winger and center that either stop or allow so many tries. No one in our centers has played with anyone on our wing (ok maybe Kevie and Nofo/MWZ… or Marsters and Nofo but that's not likely) and that's going to be bad for our defense.

Playing 80 minutes. We seem to loose games around 60 min last year. Hopefully this improves with endurance training. (Wayne Gretsky apparently could not tire. He was the smallest player in his team but beat everyone at endurance barely raising a sweat after actively playing for 2 hours.).

Ball play. Hopefully our team will gel in attack. Again no one has really played together at the back so I doubt there will be many successful no look passes. But I don't think this will be as big a problem as Defense.

We need recruit more ball hogs and players that have never passed the ball in a decade of playing to make this work. We don’t want some young bloke coming in with a bullet pass that can put an outside back in the clear.

At least we might have the best completion rate in the NRL

Get a field goal expert like Dan Carter and we can win the comp

Who thought winning a comp would be so easy , can't believe no one else thought of this

I'd like to see what Mahe Fonua can do from 10 meters out for the opposition try line. God help the poor sod in between the try line and him.

Luck with injuries …hopefully that continues

South African golfer Gary Player once said " its funny , the harder I work the luckier I get "

I hope we have worked harder than any other NRL side this year

Sounds like the Melbourne Storm moto.

I think our main issues will be
Ivan getting our team to gel pretty early so,we can compete straight up
Injury Free or Min Injury season
Play out 80 minute win loose or draw
Defence

I think we have enough players to score points

But I do believe Ivan will get the best outof each player who wants to put in , we showed last year some of the guys who got a go played well , Big Alex , Houf , we have got
Packer , Big Ben , Reynolds , Tui , if these guys fire early it won't be a bad season

I can't wait

All of the new guys trusting each other in defense will be key. I can see most sides burning us out wide to score due to compression caused by mistrust in this area. Only game-time together can heal this issue.

Five one out hit ups followed by a bomb on the 6th should do it 😂

This is the single most irritating thing we did last year. Brooks putting a bomb up from halfway. It is the most boring, defensive play I have seen. Most clubs do it now instead of kicking to the corners. Be aggressive, kick to the corners or run itb on the 5th. Bombing from half way does nothing as far as im concerned.
