Thomas Mikaele re-signs

Future star this guy....from the last 9 off contract players we atleast need to re sign alioia, liddle and Thompson...rest can go or sign on minimum contracts for depth such as fonu, gamble and Lawrence

If we can afford it, we can give Lawrence up to $300K as a veteran (he's the only one we've got.)

A good way to fill a spot in the 30 without spending actual cap space, gives us $300K to utilise elsewhere.

@Cultured_Bogan
Ya true....the only players I don’t see us re signing tbh is rochow, benji, Farah and maybe fonua or gamble unless those two stay for dirt cheap

Lets sign some more Ipswich boys

What about Luke Keary ......oh hang on ....how does that work .....old man races greyhounds in Ipswich ......what ......Ipswich is in NSW ......

@happy_tiger have you heard of Izaia Perese? Contracted for a year with bronx/dolphins - QLD lad, tore it up in union (Reds/Aus schools). I can't see him getting a contract worthy of his while with Shibasaki, Oates, Issako & Staggs the clear preference, even with Jimmy gone. The kid is too good to be another Tom Opacic

Doesn't get the talk that many others up here do

I don't get to watch many Qld cup games as I work most Saturday arvos and Sunday arvos

Dearden and Turpin have really got much of the spotlight as far as Qld cup games

Think Patriot would answer that question more accurately

Surprised Dearden doesn't have the speed of his Dad ... he was quick , like faster than Tedesco quick .....played AFL for the Sydney Swans in the late 80's early 90's .....his Grandad was the host of VFL in Qld on the Match of the Day

Awesome. Hopefully Aloiai next.

Touchwood, that would be very good moving forward.

Good news of itself but I hate these two year extensions for young players. He'll be off contract again at 23, barely even starting his prime and probably with a year of starting first-choice performance in his tank. Yet again, the Tigers will have done all the hard yards to get him there but won't get any real benefit out of it as he'll either leave or we'll have to pay him full whack to keep him for the bulk of his career.

Mikalele, MCK, Aloai, Liddle are the 4 off contract we should sign.

Two year contracts under Madge are smart as these young players need to play for a bigger contract. Madge will retain players we should not worry about contract lengths.

Many are still scarred as no one wanted to play for JT as soon as they became sought after.

Two down. Two to go.

Yeah ....if he’s good enough he’ll end up at the Roosters!

How long do you suggest..?

There is a line of thought that players perform well in a contract year then the form wanes once they get a new contract..

2 year deals seem about the right length to me nothing stopping the Club extending again prior to the final year if form and growth continue...Maguire himself is only here till 2021 should we be locking him up longer term at this point as well...?
