Thoughts on this forum

Forum is great! Love wasting my free time here! Though I will say, unless I’m deeply interested or intrigued, any posts longer than 4-5 lines get flicked!

The forum is a good place to come and talk about wests tigers.
We are all passionate about this team, and yes at time's they frustrate all of us a lot, we would all like to see the team consistently succeed, and play finals footy.
When that expectation is not achieved, dis-appointment/discontent appears.

Sometimes we need to step back, take a few moments gather our thoughts to realise, it's a game of footy, not the be all and end all.

forum format is great

just a lot of negative people who just point fingers and blame others

Oh sorry.... Your opinion is the be all.and end all is it?

I've seen the team in bigger strife than we are currently with the forum much better.... This Is very difficult to follow quoted convoys, among other things

Seems to be the same ole same ole, although we go have less people sticking the boot in during the live game thread, which is a positive.

This forum is my first port of call to get the low down/goss/news on all things Wests Tigers.
When you're here regularly, you get to know who interests you, what to sort of believe, who is fun, and (maybe) who to even scroll past./
Either way, in my opinion, this forum remains the BEST football supporter forum of any NRL club - so HUGE thanks to all those who Admin, those who look after the actual mechanics of the place and to ALL the POSITIVE Wests Tigers fans who make this place sing!

From a mod perspective the forum has probably been at its busiest what with all the deleting of posts and sockpuppets showing up.

Nothing beats the old format, but this one is okay. The one that replaced the old one with the infinite scroll was horrid. Quoting was impossible to read. I gave up trying.

There's far more nonsense and crap being posted on here basically with not a lot of people contributing positively.

Honestly Willow though , can you blame us ??

I reckon I'll be a Grandad quicker than we make the 8 .....you might be a Grandad before we make the 8

The difference is Happy, I don't let things outside of my life that I cannot control worry me. I worry about what I can control and influence. I shake my head every day reading some of the comments in here and the things people get caught up on. Rugby League is a sport, a game, nothing more. I like watching the Tigers play, probably not as much as I used to since I've become all too accustomed to the team losing. I've got bigger things to worry about which tend to rear their head more often than not, so I don't get hung up on the team getting rolled each week. For those that do, I suggest find some perspective on what's important in life.

You’re coming across as quite superior in my opinion. If you don’t let things out of your control worry you, why do you get upset at these types of comments?
Mate, for some this is a release. I work hard in a stressful job where I have to be measured and conservative, careful of what I say and do. For me, this forum, and watching footy in general, is my release. It’s where I let my emotions overflow. @cochise will tell you that at games I yell and scream like a madman - because it’s a release and an emotional outlet.
I too think some comments are ott - but if they’re not disrespectful, so what? Live and let live

I get where Willow is coming from. There was a point during the big 4 saga where I got totally burnt out. There’s only so much effort you can put in before you lose interest. I became apathetic. Makes you realise there’s more to life.

Where did I say it upset me? You may call it superior, I call it reality. Happy knows what I do for a living so he knows I'm not blowing smoke when I talk about reality and what's important in life (to me).

Not easy being green Lieutenant Dan

I guess what irks me the most that nothing has changed basically since day dot

If we performed like this club performs we'd be out of a job real quick

Not making excuses but being off work and the frustration involved in what was going on didn't help with the club's substandard garbage

Mate if you knew what I went through at work yesterday you'd be shaking your head.:astonished:

IMO this Forum peaked during 2005-2011( the clubs best period).... I really enjoyed it during this period. Times and posters move on, lose interest and change...just like our team....Sadly I know a lot of members of this Forum who can’t be bothered anymore and have abandoned it....also the media dept and quality of content of our club has declined significantly the last 3-4 years. I have no doubt that has contributed to a loss of interest in this forum...

lol, before I met you my 6 year old daughter asked me what you were yelling at.

What people need to remember is different people have different levels of investment in the team. If you are working a job you don't like and don't have many other outlets in life than a footy team can become pretty important.

I have my family and job as other outlets so a lose of a footy game hurts but I move onto other things the next day. Some people don't have anything else to move onto.
