Funny thing is I actually like Thurston heaps, (even though he is a QLDer).

He is probably the player who I get my 2 older boys to pay attention to most when he is on TV

Info out this morning seems to be more positve.

Good luck JT.

He is a fantastic ambassador for the game. Always has time for kids and fans - from any club. He does play the game in a way that rubs people the wrong way but I agree he's a legend.

Cowboys only need to jag one more win to get into the top 8 and Thurston looks likely to be back before the finals so they're not done yet.

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned in another thread but Cameron Smith has gotten off scott free for his late knees on Hayne.
That is an absolute joke. I don't care how intentional it looked the fact of the matter is it was late and the NRL in the last few years have cracked down on it.
What comes to mind straight away is Bryce Gibbs getting suspended for 4 weeks against the Eels (late knees on Luke Burt) for something IMO not as bad as Smith's.

Will you still he upset if Hayne doesn't play tomorrow night . Smith playing or not playing won't affect the Tigers in any way ,shape or form

I will be happy if Hayne doesn't play but Melbourne don't deserve any leg ups. He should be out for at least 1 week.

Maybe but if you look at the footage slowed down his hands miss him and then his knees connect . Look at some of the stuff NSW got away with in particular that scumbag Glenn Stewart .

The fact the Ref gave a penalty try was bad enough… No contact was made with the knees or boot. (mind you the Gibbs suspension was a joke also, considering Hayne got off a worse situation to play in the GF)

I feel Bird should be spending sometime on the sidelines for his attack on Lockyer in the air, but this is how SOO is usualy played out...

No contact made…. I don't know if you were watching the same match.

yeah I was, but I suppose I didnt have any emotion attached to the incident?!

The 8pt Try was a disgrace just like the Thaiday Penalty for Rucking…

NRL Referee's are a DISGRACE!!!

I'm sorry but the 8pt try was just consistency.
Like I said the NRL has cracked down in the last few years on late knees and boots in the in-goal area.
Just because it is origin doesn't mean they can by-pass the rules.

Yeah the 8 point try and Gibbs subsequent suspension for grazing Burts backside can be seen as a big reason along with Tuiaki's injury that saw Parra go into the 2009 finals and us out the back door.

The Smith one deserved the 8 point try and a judiciary charge if you eant to apply the rule across the board.

I felt sorry for him..not sorry enough to want him to play on though loll good luck to him

So with Thurston going to miss a few games thru injury, has he done enough this season to secure another Dally M medal?
if not who now has a great shot at it?
