A few times tonight on fox sports news channel they have said that Thurston is almost definately out for the rest of the season!!!

The Cowboys are a vastly over rated side that Thurston has been carrying on his back for years, they will now implode and get the spoon, I have no doubt whatsoever.

Said news for Rugby League in general that a bloke of his calibre will miss the whole year. Felt the same way when Joey and Benji kept copping long term injuries. I love watching the best take on the best so it's a real shame he'll be out

Maybe those pathetic cockroaches may stand a chance this year with all these injuries.

It's not the Thurston injury alone that will hurt the Cowboys, but the loss of Payne as well is the knockout blow. 2 key players gone.

Add Bowen to make a threesome

2 - 3 weeks according to a video on the Cows website.

This is sourced from a Cows fan on LU but

He's only out for 2-3 weeks. He's just tore a muscle in his back that goes to his shoulder and that there is no structural damage. He still hopes to play in the test.

Doesnt say anything in the text on this page (they mustnt have updated it) but wait for the video to load and it is an interview with JT saying he's had the scans.

2-3 weeks he'll be out for:

Thurston cleared of serious injury

Johnathan Thurston has been cleared of serious injury with the North Queensland skipper ruled out for 2-3 weeks with a muscle tear in his left shoulder.
>
Fears the Test and Queensland halfback would miss the rest of the season were quashed after scans revealed no structural damage to his surgically repaired shoulder.
>
The layoff means Thurston is still in contention for Australia's Test against New Zealand in Melbourne next month.
>
Thurston landed heavily on his shoulder in the first half of his side's loss to Wests Tigers on Saturday night and after attempting to play on briefly, eventually succumbed to the injury.
>
"There's no structural damage, and the reconstruction to Johnathan's shoulder is all still intact," Cowboys general manager of football Dean Lance said.
>
"He'll be in full-time physio with Billy Johnstone, and once he's moving without pain, he'll go back to training with the main squad."
>
Thurston said he was determined to be fit in time for the representative season.
>
"I'm hoping to spend only a couple of weeks on the sideline, and hopefully get the Test and Origin as well," Thurston said.

You're probably right mate but my bias and dislike for the guy probably made me think that.
