Yeah it's a shame there's this little thing called the salary cap that interferes with this fantasy.

We have already signed Anasta, Isoefa, Pettybourne and Thompson from other clubs and upgraded juniors Nofoaluma, Sironen and Tedesco.
Then we have the top 4 players Lawrence, Farah, Marshall and Blair taking a big chunk of the cap. We have enough trouble keeping what we have let alone chasing another 500k player.

I don't get how we would have the money. Very interested to see which of our current players are not resigned because there has to be quite a few for us to be under the cap for 2013.

pretty strong

Yep. We have the Origin half + hooker, we have a controlling halfback which is exactly what we need in the side, we have a ball playing lock with a great backup in Anasta, who can shift to lock with Sironen playing in the 2nd row. Don't see how anyone can be oppossed to a possible Pearce signing. Tigers would only be behind Melbourne with the best 1,6,7 and 9.

Agreed 100 percent and we can release Reddy, iosefa, Spencer & Heighno which well make space for pearce…. they are all unneeded iosefa we have humble Heighno we have Bell/Moors Reddy we have the nyc guys this will be a great side imo

come on guys the next TV deal is going to be worth a couple of billion $$$ and every player will be earning at least $100 000 because the salary cap is going to go up to ten times its current amount.

Everyone knows that.

Keods it doesn't work that way mate
Most of these blokes are on league minimums and will have to get replaced by blokes on league on league minimum

The players you will end up having to lose will be Heighintopn's ,Fulton's ,Bell's ,Reddy's,Groats and Ayshfords to fit a player like Pearce in and then replace the above players with more players on League Minimums Might sound great , but is unrealistic to be honest

So Benji spends 2 years at seven then switches back to 5/8???? He'd have no trouble doing it, but im im reluctant to believe we will go hard after MItchell. We will enquire in the hope of getting him for a certain price, but he'll want more and we will continue to stick with Benji at 7…...just my prediction

hmmm whilst it would be kinda neat, from the Balmain side of things, to see the names Pearce and Sironen back in the same side, I'm just not too sure.

We would have to offload a heap of players to sign him . Can't understand why you would buy Anasta and then chase Pearce

Flip ,Question

Why is Junior not a legend ??

You still half asleep, Happy? I didn't say Junior wasn't a legend, but he is a Balmain legend, not a Wests Tigers legend - totally different club now, but the media always have trouble acknowledging it and it ticks me off.

Mate he is a Wests Tigers legend, just like John Donnelly is a Wests Tigers legend. Going by your reasoning we better stop inviting past players to games for the yearly reunions as they have no revelance to the Wests Tigers.

The only thing about this which confuses me is that very one believes it …....

Even though it has come from the Terrorgraph , who have absolutely no credibility or reliability

Even though in the article the only piece of reliable info is a quote from Warren McDonald

"I make calls to hundreds of managers and speak to them all the time," McDonnell said. "That is nothing unusual, but we are very happy with our halves, having Benji Marshall, Curtis Sironen going well, Braith Anasta coming and Jacob Miller coming through."

Once again complete dribble from Rothfield and his cronies ....

No they aren't, Cochise - Wests Tigers is a whole new entity. Pearce played for Balmain and Donnelly played for Wests - neither team exists in the NRL anymore. It's time the media realised that. After 12 years we have enough real WT legends to invite to the reunions - Hodgo, Skando, Senter, O'Neill, Hill, Richards, Payten, Galea….you get the idea.

I understand and admire what you are trying to say and your sentiment behind it. I also want to move forward as one club and believe that those trying so desperately to hang onto the past are holding us back. I just find it extremely disappointing if we abandon our past completely. Any way we are way off topic so this is a discussion for another day.

Of course we should be enquiring not nessecarily signing but it's a year away we don't know if sironene will be a five eight or forward, which might mean only benji in the halves ,etc ,etc, McDonnell just doing his job.

As for Wayne Pearce being a wests tigers legend -he is -he played for balmain and like any western suburbs magpie legend he becomes a wests tigers legend now the others no longer exist

Yeah fair enough, mate, I see your point also.

Getting back on topic, Pearce would be a nice addition, especially with his newly formed combination with Robbie, but I doubt we could afford him under the cap. We would have to move a lot of others on, apart from the players already leaving, to make room for him.
