Tigers and Storm Player Loan Swap

As a neutral fan of rugby league, I've been sweating on Harry Grant to get a go in first grade. The fact I'm gonna get to watch him play for US is salivating. I can't wait. I hope the comp doesn't get canned.

Other than Norths SYD Bears fans I didn't imagine many other neutral fans exist. I wish misfortune on every other team except the Tigers.
Actually I've got nothing against the Titians and Cowboys. Melbourne have also been pretty good with this swap deal.
Looking forward to Harry playing for us.

Will Walters play at 7 in round 3?

I know the dislike for Reynolds is rampant on the forum but why would you replace either half with hundreds of games experience with someone with 3 interesting thinking at time’s here !

Only reason I can think of is to mobilise our left side attack, which is badly needed to take the heat off Benji and our right side. Walters can do that. His understanding with Grant could produce more free flowing attack from our left side.
If you want Josh there because you like him and for no other reason then I rest my case ?

So, seems like it's finally happen. Do we think Momo drops out of the 17 the week then?

Surely MCK comes in for him

Yea that's what I'm thinking too

You guys are going to have to realise eventually that MCK is a plodder !

a plodder that single handedly won us 2 games last year against top quality sides........

Apart from that - what else has he done in 4 years?????

I don't understand the gushing around Walters for at best an average game, but hey, if you guys are happy with that level of nine, then who am I to argue.

He was very solid I thought, and played very well for a bloke who has been shoehorned into a role. I like ET but are you really saying that he or Reynolds would have offered more there than Walters?

Momirovski-Grant club swap finally a done deal

New Melbourne recruit Paul Momirovski was on hand to see the Storm overcome Cronulla on Saturday night at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium. The Storm officially completed a player swap with the Wests Tigers, enabling Harry Grant to link with the Sydney-based joint venture club.

Former Tigers centre Momirovski watched the Storm defeat Cronulla 12-10 and then enjoyed a beer with Grant in the victorious dressing room before catching a late night charter flight to Melbourne with his new team-mates. He took Grant’s seat on the plane after the hooker flew to Sydney with the Storm in preparation for his move to the Tigers following the completion of drawn-out negotiations for the NRL’s first loan deal.

With strict protocols around who is allowed entry into games while matches are played in closed stadiums due to COVID-19 restrictions, NRL officials had to add Momirovski’s name to the gate list.
His name is also on the list for entry to Leichhardt Oval on Sunday when the Tigers host Newcastle, which Grant is now expected to attend before commencing training with his new club on Monday.

Under the terms of the arrangement, Momirovski will return to the Tigers next season and Grant will move back to Melbourne.

“Both clubs wanted it to happen, the two kids both wanted it to happen so I think perhaps we could have made it a little bit easier,” Storm coach Craig Bellamy said.

“Those two boys are happy, they are down there having a beer together at the moment. Harry is staying up so he will join the Tigers on Monday and Paul will start his year with us.

“Hopefully it will be a good thing for the clubs and hopefully it will be a good thing for the two individuals too.”

For Momirovski, the flight to Melbourne after the match was the first of many he can expect this season due to changes introduced by the NRL to reduce the risk of players contracting COVID-19.

Will take us to top 8,,,is a gun

Have you been watching him play Q Cup? I only saw him play the trial vs Warriors and he was underwhelming TBH. Hopefully he's got a lot more talent than he showed in that game.

He was their best player in the other trial game. Scored and assisted tries. Very attacking minded hooker which is good especially with brooks out

No, not at all, and my rating of him at 6.5 reflected my view of a solid performance. Though I think that is his level and from next week, if we get to see another or many more games this season, I expect the Grant difference to be that of night and day.

IMO I would definitely go with Walters ahead of Reynolds. Someone else here said “when the hammer comes down” they wanted Reynolds because of his experience including his SOO experience. Experience does not necessarily translate to ability. The reason I want Reynolds gone is exactly for this reason I KNOW (and I reckon we all do) that “when the hammer comes down” and we are in trouble, say 5 to go and behind by 4, I KNOW that Reynolds will think “I have to make a MASSIVE effort here” and will go himself. My gut feel is that Walters will think “Madge told me to give it to Brooks” or get it wide or whatever.

Reynolds has zero vision and his whole career has been built on high energy, having a crack and pissing off the opposition. He single handed lay cost us two tries last week by going himself whilst the team was working to a left hand overlap. The only reason the “hammer didn’t come down” is that Dragons butchered 4 try’s

Strongly disagree if that is ok?

Simple as. Pick the best each week. I back the coach to do so whether it's Walters grant or Reynolds.
Anyone selecting with sentiment shouldn't ever make a 1st grade coach

Better than ok. What would the forum be without strong disagreement.?

I think Madge should give Walters at least one game at 7 while Brooks is recovering and while Grant is at 9. I want to see what Doueihi can do. If Reynolds stays at 7, I hope he fixes his game to allow that to happen. I hope he changes my opinion today.
