Still think it's odd that they named Grant and replaced him with Asofa-Solomona,,,why are they waiting for B Smith to get fit when he doesn't even replace Cammy..if there is doubt over Cammy and B Smith replaces him ...would he go 80 so they would still need a back up hooker so why release Grant..Belly is a flog..

Brooks or Benji wouldn't have got the ball that early last year.

He was a far better defender ...Walters got pushed off regularly on Sunday

Farah was always one of our weakest tacklers. Whether or not Walters can keep it up is my only concern.

I can't remember having that many tacklers better than Farah tbh. You don't make 50+ tackles against Queensland if you're weak at it.

What are the odds both Smiths get injured? Cameron rarely does. Brandon can play 80 minutes easily so they’re comfortable having two 80 minute hookers it seems, but until Brandon is fit they have no reason to risk not having a hooker. They may as well wait the extra week or two before going ahead with it.

so Walters held his own during the rotation..

Our best defender statistically was Luciano Leilua with 31 tackles 0 missed 1 ineffective 96.9 % which is a bit deceptive as Frizzell poured down that side quite a bit..Worst Jennings 1 tackle 2 missed T/E 25%

He made at least one of those breaks when Luci was at marker . Also benji looked gasSed , and he got between benji and Joey .

Frizzell beat Benji with pace regularly ..quite surprised Benji wasn't doing what he quite regularly does by trying to come out quick and slow the bigger blokes down .....maybe his wrist issues were the cause

Benji probably missed 7-8 tackles ...which I can live with ..as long as they aren't clean misses

Not sure why you are blaming Lucy for ..when we were losing the ruck in the last 15 minutes he got sucked closer to the middle and then we got caught out by the spread

Stats can be misleading ...just because you complete a tackle doesn't mean it was an effective tackle or helped controlled the ruck /ruck speed

I'm not blaming anyone..just pointing out teams need to defend as a unit..why is your half getting isolated 1 on 1 that far out from the tryline..

NRL records in-effective tackles...the middles had 8 in total for the 80mins

Well that is simple ..they were sliding when they shouldn't have been sliding ..we were numbered up OK as long as the inside defenders kept working hard

Its gonna happen Geo ...Lucy and Benji lack speed and most teams will focus on that late in both halves

They also record ave PTB speed which I have no idea how they figure that one out..Mikaele the fastest with 2.93s Luciano and Musgrove the slowest with 3.93s..in the forwards Joey 2.84s and Thompson 3.95s in the backs..

It's a game of inches..lol

Even using that is comparative ....couple of times Musgrave was battling for the tryline

I thought Muzzy what commiting more numbers in tackles than Mikaele

The future looks very bright for Tom and am also expecting Zane to improve fitness wise in leaps and bounds

Musgrove got 0 tries going for the tryline and Mikaele contributed to two tries by getting away a late offload and getting a quick PTB. Musgrove committed more initially but wrestled and gave them enough time to peel off and reset. Both looked dangerous though.

Yep, a player that finds their front to allow a speedy play the ball is a valuable commodity and it also held me back on praising Musgrove in the trial. I like the aggression and fight in the tackle, just hope that he also learn when to fall and take more control of the ruck speed.
