Lawrence Daley just said on NRL on FOX that Stuart's chief adviser is Bob Fulton and that they have been discussing players since round one of the comp. Fulton chief advisor enough said.

its the same clubs getting there players in yr after yr… this yr is a joke... this players built for origin crap has gone too far.... qld are so good cause they have a core group who get the job done, they pick there best 17 possible based on there abilities.... Gasnier and maybe our wingers are the only players that are the best in there positions IMO, the rest are rickys boys, angry blokes with chips on there shoulders... Thurstan, Smith and Lockyer will have a field day...

I think the WT are victims of their own policies.
Since the merge, WT have tried to clean up their act and portray a "good guy" image.
Origin is all about getting down and dirty, mateship and standing by your fellow man.
If WT had more grubs and cheapshot merchants in their squad, WT would have a better chance of representative selection.
Good guys come last…

Yeah I don't see how team consistency really has much to do with it, considering a lot of teams below us on the ladder have players being picked.

Individual player consistency on the other hand…...

Skill is still the deciding factor for me but yeah I do agree that you need a couple of a- holes in your forwards….

Yes, it is about the individuals. While Canberra may be horrible, has Dugan been horrible? Is Gallen the reason Cronulla are losing games?

I honestly don't believe any of our eligible players deserve to be there. Simply not good enough so far this season.
With a bit of luck, they'll fire up this weekend.

That's a really good point about individual player consistency, it appears a lot of the "better" Wests Tigers players are either hot or cold and there isn't much between either point.

Maybe this is what coach Sheens should be working on?

Probably why he wants us to grind out wins like last year . We become more consistant as individuals and as a team that way as was shown last year .

I remember hearing I think it was John Cartwright saying the best player in the game was Cameron Smith because the difference between his worst and best game was minimal.

Our players sometimes have huge gaps between their best and worst games. Do they play to their best or worst come SOO. It is a risk.

Something I have asked myself over the last 3-4 years is this . "Qld bring in youngsters to there SOO sides and they always seem to grow into far better players for the experience ,yet I could not say the same for all NSW players in the same situation" Like for Qld Matt Scott , David Shillington and Jacob Lillyman as examples .

I think that is an old Authur Beetson saying… Carty probably got that off Gould?

Farah & Kilo went missing for half a game only last week….the week before origin selection.
Its not new....Its been happening for years
Theyve only themselves to blame.
Enjoy the ride, rollercoaster, up & down n all that....the club promotes this inconsistent BS

Dugan ran just 75 metres last weekend versus the Storm. Full backs run at least 100, usually. Gallen doesn't cause Cronulla to lose, but he isn't good enough to cause them to win either.

Robbie Farah is good enough to cause a team to win.

Watched the Channel 9 footy show last night when they interviewed Ricky Stuart.
Ricky said something like "we can't control the scoreboard. And I can't control the process to create a score on the scoreboard. We are just concentrating on our individual performances".
Frankly I couldn't believe what I was hearing. You control the scoreboard by scoring points.
That philosophy is why Robbie will never be picked for origin while Ricky is coach and selector.

You won't beat the Maroons by picking a defensive side. They are simply too good and can score points from anywhere on the park.

NSW needs to pick players who can put points on the board. By picking Soward, Stuart has basically acknowledged that the game plan will be five hit ups then put up a bomb on the 30 metre line and hope for the best.

At least they're heading in the right direction by picking players in the right spots. Now to just pick the right players.
