lol..the board demands a full review..

Well I demand a full review of the Board ..starting with Lee..

We are the stakeholders!

Can we get 400,000 people to say it’s just not good enough and WE would like to conduct a review of the club’s governance and its performance?

Where is this number of 400,000 fans coming from? Are we saying that 2% of all people living in Australia are WT fans?

Our Board comprises a butcher, a baker and a candlestick maker. They do not have the skills or knowledge to run a review, nor run a football club.

The review needs to be independent, providing a bunch of recommendations for the board.

However the last bloke that did that (Brian Smith) sent the club further backwards.

It's about getting the right person to run the review. Someone with a sound knowledge of the contemporary game, and with no allegiances.

I don't have anyone to suggest off the top of my mind.

You only get rid of a Coach if you have someone better. Next please. As for Brooks, he will look good in a Cowboys jumper.

Maybe they already have someone better lined up?

Is it a coincidence that Adrian Lam announced that he's leaving Wigan to pursue other opportunities.
He'd be an upgrade. Very astute man Adrian Lam.

Not too many candidates out there. Wayne Pearce comes to mind though he has former connections to WT and Balmain but not Wests and therefore is not completely independent.
I can’t see Sheens being involved and I don’t have any faith in the board.

Think they would be best off locking themselves in at Wests Leagues HQ with all WT staff and Players and have an open honest session. Completely recorded and get an independent person to review the outcomes and go from there.

They do a review every year, I hope nobody is expecting any serious changes this time around. Set your expectations low.

Is there any context to this?

The context is a season where the club has gone backwards.
Just like the previous season and the season before.
3 years of no visible signs of coaching and the board's had enough.

Rightio

Leave Madge where he is. Sack the loser chairman. Was only a week ago he was saying everything was good. Clearly has no idea what’s happening within the club.

A lot of the comments here while well meaning, are fairly uninformed.

The role of the board isn't to run the footy club.

The board exist to keep us financially viable as a club, abiding by laws, build a vision and strategy and employ a CEO to turn the vision into reality and run things.

An annual review is pretty spot on.

Whether the review is any good is another issue.

Looking on the bright side, at least we got our defence in order to now be sitting below 30 points conceded on average over the season.

Yippee, we won't finish lower than our current thirteenth on the ladder.

Maybe if the chairman kept his nose out of contract discussions the club might be in a better position to acquire some decent signing.
Also we might not be stuck with an underperforming winger for the next 4 years.

If Madge goes, the board have to reflect on how they continue to govern a club that is likely to end the career of a Melbourne assistant who won comps in the ESL and NRL but couldn't shift us from 9th to 8th.

Keep hearing "We're doing great everywhere except first grade". What a shame we are an NRL club.

These end of season reviews happen at every club every year. Sheens involvement in this season's review will make this year's review a little different. Love to see the boys make finals but this ongoing Telegraph crap about the time since Wests Tigers last finals game is just ridiculous. We did at least win the comp in 05. Two of the NRL's pets the Titans and the Warriors have spent plenty since joining the competition and won precisely nothing.

It’s a very simple equation regarding the review.
The club has done a poor job in junior development, pathways, talent identification and pathways. Pan kick bought and bent out the salary cap.

Hired a coach who’s one of the best at developing young players but struggles to attract top end experienced talent.

So now the solution is bring through young players and punt the coach that is one of the best in the business at developing them. Bring in a coach who can attract talent when there is not much left on the market.

Madge being moved makes little to no sense this year whether you rate him or not. Next year with some younger players further developing and even more cap space Mbye contract completely off. The club not only would have more players to choose from with recruitment but be more attractive to get a better coach.

You may then be able to attract a Cameron Ciraldo or Jason Ryles if that’s what they want.

I’d stick with Madge we will be better for him the longer he’s here in the long run. I do accept it’s highly doubtful he will see the fruits of his hard work.

Sheens will be doing it. Or at least I hope so.

Can you image a review run by our current board of insurance and real estate agents....sheeeesh.

I don't even know if Sheens should be conducting the review. He's been out of the NRL for a decade, and his football department and facilities were well below standard the last time he was here. He's going to see the Centre of Excellence and the number of personnel in the football department and think that it's far better than what it looks like externally.

it needs to be completely independent. someone like Shane Richardson might be a decent shout, although he might side with Madge when he could be an issue.
