To add to that,if I didnt perform well after a couple of games my coach would drop me because we had guys competing for spots behind us...the WTs players in the top 17 know that there isnt enough talented depth to replace them...cini,madden for example,great blokes but arent anywhere near NRL standard atm...

Happy I am the first to agree our roster is bog average, but even bog average players you expects to see some improvement. Bar a couple of players and as a collective unit they went backwards. I remember many moons ago when I was a school, I was bog average at history, than this unbelievably good teacher came along and pulled my grades up from bottom to top five in the class. Not saying a new coach can do that with this roster, but if he can improve them 1% it’s better than going backwards by 10%

That is really what happens at NRL level across the board, there is a large gap between NRL and reserve grade.

Apart from the juniors who haven't hit their ceilings yet ....many of our blokes have reached their ceiling and aren't going to improve ......

You mean he was bringing him into first grade in a controlled manner to ensure his successful development.

A coach is only as good as his roster ......our roster sucks big time ......Madge is wearing a cumulutive effect of a club who hasn't looked like a Top 8 side for 11 years ......we can attract players becuase we are miles away from playing finals or pushing a players representative chances .....

How many times this year did we see Madge interviewed before a game and excitedly claim the team trained/prepared well and are ready to make a statement, only to be 12+ down in no time? Same in that stupid doco…he rants and raves and tells them he knows they are ready to dig in and then they take the field and get spanked.
His words have no effect on the players. They are on different pages.

Well the review has had at least 100 working hours to be done 10 hour days x 10 days since we bailed out of semi final contention , you would expect something this arvo , Coach Going or staying , Assistant Coaches , Players signings , something anything , if these guys go all the way to the end of next week we won’t be lucky enough to sign Simms , Woods , peachy , Elliot as they will probably have found a new home , it’s an internal review they don’t take much , most info they would have had at the finger tips , results , Contacts , all the main bits , all really they had to do was decide on , Madge stays or goes , after this the new coach would need to come in , if he stays , then move on

If indeed the coaches departure is announced,you should coincide the announcement of his replacement to turn the inevitable negative into a major positive
Selection process and negotiations take time,particularly if its a coach still in a job
