This is a great listen so far. An in depth description of someone who has dealt with the big wigs at the club. I’m half hour in and it’s pretty damming

Correct the problem is wests asfield.

They say our players are happy to br nrl players.

Our board and ceo are happy just to be working for a nrl club.

Winning is irrelevant.

Critism on negotiation is on point.

If we lose Stefano to the bloody slime that we signed him from, I am done.

As if ? Madge had him in and out of first grade for no reason and the only reason he kept starting is because people were in his ear all origin camp about how shit of a coach he is.

You mean he was bringing him into first grade in a controlled manner to ensure his successful development.

You are giving Madge far too much credit there.

If you think Madge is a good coach, that is your bad luck.

A coach is only as good as his roster ......our roster sucks big time ......Madge is wearing a cumulutive effect of a club who hasn't looked like a Top 8 side for 11 years ......we can attract players becuase we are miles away from playing finals or pushing a players representative chances .....


When I have seen no defensive structure for 3 seasons you can blame the players all you like , the bottom line is Maguire surrounded himself with very poor assistants this was his doing if he was a good coach he would of rectified the situation:
Maguire is done get over it !

Just curious, @Snake. What will you do if Maguire is retained?


Where out .. just follow as a non paying supporter we will no longer support the club financially as a member !
If Maguire is not removed it’s a message from the club
that they have no intention of rectifying the mediocrity level with in the club .
The club has to realise its not good enough to expect supporters every season to pay out hard earned cash when the hard work is not reciprocated!
I will state one thing if the club are losing supporters like us this club has MAJOR ISSUES !As we have had memberships with the Magpies and the Tigers for 30 yrs.
It all depends how much skin you have in the game and that skin looks like going back into our pockets .

And, you know what? That would be sad. I have enormous respect for those who, if they can, support the club through memberships. I also know that not everyoe can do that and their support of WT is just as needed and important as mine and my friends who are members.

Maybe I think we all have to realise that NONE of us know what the issues are with WT, or indeed, if there are issues. ***Maybe we're just not good enough. That happens***.

The 10 year run of no finals footy has us all wondering how things can be improved. I am of the opinion, and that's all it is, is that Maguire and his coaching and managemnt skills are not THE problem.

That problem lies above the football department in the CEO, Board and Chairperson roles and the quality of coherent, informed and strategic leadership they provide.

But, that's just my opinion, and I didn't need any "gobsmacking" podcast to tell me it.

What exactly is the point you're trying to make?

That teams that miss the eight occasionally do so because they aren't good enough.... As you said that happens.... Every year, eight of them.

But not for a decade... Teams that miss for a decade have bigger problems

Nofo was one of our worst players this year.
Yet hes so complacent.

Anyone think we’ve got the recruitment strategy all wrong?
Instead of these public meetings where we are begging for players to join us we might need to get the current players involved to sell our vision.

Nofa has done us a favour this Post is perfect for any aspiring footballers wanting to have an extra 5 week break on top of the mandatory two month rest.

Maybe a poster and a short film should to be put together featuring the boys in Bali the first week of September, something like “where the bloody hell are ya?”

Possibly just simply a conscription poster with Madge Maguire as Uncle Sam. “Join the Tigers”with a Bora Bora backdrop?

Possibly because Laurie is in rehab? Noffa had ACL surgery last year or the year before for a partial tear so this might be one of the rare injury free pre-seasons for him.

Mate I have zero problem with him having time off, he has a limited time for a break and he should take it. Im self employed and can have time off whenever I want and if by some twist of fate I was somehow dropped beside a resort pool in the current circumstances, I would have enough self awareness to understand that 99% of the population cant, and a large amount of them are possibly out of work and doing it tough. So no, I have enough self awareness that if I had time off I wouldnt be posting selfies next to a resort pool.

There is no lack of self awareness here at all... but that's your opinion and that's fine. If people don't understand that this guy has been working hard, has stayed away from family for months and is enjoying some time off then it's on them, not on him.
