Tigers board to undertake post-season review

Well the review has had at least 100 working hours to be done 10 hour days x 10 days since we bailed out of semi final contention , you would expect something this arvo , Coach Going or staying , Assistant Coaches , Players signings , something anything , if these guys go all the way to the end of next week we won’t be lucky enough to sign Simms , Woods , peachy , Elliot as they will probably have found a new home , it’s an internal review they don’t take much , most info they would have had at the finger tips , results , Contacts , all the main bits , all really they had to do was decide on , Madge stays or goes , after this the new coach would need to come in , if he stays , then move on

When I have seen no defensive structure for 3 seasons you can blame the players all you like , the bottom line is Maguire surrounded himself with very poor assistants this was his doing if he was a good coach he would of rectified the situation:

I will state one thing if the club are losing supporters like us this club has MAJOR ISSUES !As we have had memberships with the Magpies and the Tigers for 30 yrs.

Totally respect your choice of renewing your membership Snake,however if the board decides that they will keep Madge because he has an extension and they dont want to fall back onto the "sack the coach theme"...isnt that showing us that the club is changing and letting Madge continue with the culture change and developing fine young talent to lay a solid platform for the future...

We all...he's had 3 years to run the show,an has done less than a stellar job,so rite now his hands should be well removed from the steering wheel with as much dignity as possible.And he's gonna get paid
Having said that,it's best for all parties to expedite the fianal solution whatever it may be,in a manner and time frame that best optimises OUR outcome..not Madges

Numerous press conferences this year he conceded that we have a long way to go to challenge those top echelon of sides. The problem is the gap continues to grow while their players careers go from strength to strength with more rep games and exposure to better players. We need to get a couple of big fish (somehow)

Happy I am the first to agree our roster is bog average, but even bog average players you expects to see some improvement. Bar a couple of players and as a collective unit they went backwards. I remember many moons ago when I was a school, I was bog average at history, than this unbelievably good teacher came along and pulled my grades up from bottom to top five in the class. Not saying a new coach can do that with this roster, but if he can improve them 1% it’s better than going backwards by 10%

But were you competing against the best history students in Australia SC ......

No…but even if they still came 13th but improved a tad from game one I would be happy to give Madge another year..but that was not the case

Apart from the juniors who haven't hit their ceilings yet ....many of our blokes have reached their ceiling and aren't going to improve ......

When I have seen no defensive structure for 3 seasons you can blame the players all you like , the bottom line is Maguire surrounded himself with very poor assistants this was his doing if he was a good coach he would of rectified the situation:
Maguire is done get over it !

Where out .. just follow as a non paying supporter we will no longer support the club financially as a member !
If Maguire is not removed it’s a message from the club
that they have no intention of rectifying the mediocrity level with in the club .
The club has to realise its not good enough to expect supporters every season to pay out hard earned cash when the hard work is not reciprocated!
I will state one thing if the club are losing supporters like us this club has MAJOR ISSUES !As we have had memberships with the Magpies and the Tigers for 30 yrs.
It all depends how much skin you have in the game and that skin looks like going back into our pockets .

And, you know what? That would be sad. I have enormous respect for those who, if they can, support the club through memberships. I also know that not everyoe can do that and their support of WT is just as needed and important as mine and my friends who are members.

Maybe I think we all have to realise that NONE of us know what the issues are with WT, or indeed, if there are issues. ***Maybe we're just not good enough. That happens***.

The 10 year run of no finals footy has us all wondering how things can be improved. I am of the opinion, and that's all it is, is that Maguire and his coaching and managemnt skills are not THE problem.

That problem lies above the football department in the CEO, Board and Chairperson roles and the quality of coherent, informed and strategic leadership they provide.

But, that's just my opinion, and I didn't need any "gobsmacking" podcast to tell me it.

I’d argue Maguire is the hardest worker in the club.

I agree with this post,

Madge needs the support of the coaches to win what he can with the young plyers he has got.

The type of recruits we want will come.

Madge is the closest we will get to a Bellamy style system, They make players instead of buying dregs and wash ups like we have done in the past.

**Madge isnt the one who failed to recruit JAC and TPJ when they were all but across the line**.
