I don't think any of us know where the review is up to and that's fair to the process, I suppose. That it's dragged on longer than we were led to believe shows how Chairman Mouth has let us all down again.
But, I also don't think that Maguire can be retained as a "least worst" option. Either he is capable of fulfilling his contract, or he isn't. Either he gets the complete authority and endorsement from the Board to fulfil duites as the NRL coach, or he doesn't.
How does the outcome of Maguire "at least not being Green or Flannagan" help him coach with certainty and confidence in 2022? It can't, in my opinion.
And, just to be clear, I prefer him to be retained than removed.
If we end up with Green, I will be extremely disappointed. If we end up up with Flanagan my support for the club will change.
