Tigers Clean Out

Everyone is saying Moses is and should be our number 6 next year that he has had a good learning curve in the under 20 and the few games he has played in the top grade this year stop let me remind you of 1 C Sironon he was a gun in u20 and is completely out of his depth in first grade as is Moses keep Austin play Moses of the bench every now and then until he can handle the pace of the game because wat I have seen so far he wouldn't blow wind up austins arse…...

Hey Mafia, I think there is more wind coming out of your arse than your mouth. Both will prove you wrong next year champ!

Why are we so insipid in everything we do?

A player wants a guaranteed place in first grade? Give me a break. So what if he is unhappy? This is where all the nosebleeds will say "if players are unhappy, let them go". Rubbish.

I want a new culture, a culture where management stands up and says "we run this place, not you"

Manly have a brace of unhappy players for one reason or another, Manly's management are sticking to their guns and managing it their way. This isn't a new event, it's been going on for months.

Where are they sitting on the ladder?

I personally agree with the 5 being tapped on the shoulder, but with the exception of moltzen, I can't see much salary being freed up. I'd personally rather let molten and Galloway go. We'd prop ably save the same money but have more depth.
As for Austin, surely he has earnt another year and a starting spot. I would mind putting 6 or 7 kgs on him and play him as a ball playing lock. Maybe similar to say a Tyrone peachey? He's looked likely whenever he's been given the chance

I don't think it's the salary cap itself which is the problem. It's more the composition of the top 25\. We have too many forwards in the top 25 and then backs like moltzen, Moses, Lawrence etc who don't or have not played many games all year. It's the imbalance which is the main problem instead of the money IMO.

Don't forget we're also losing Fulton & Braith.
Also lost Koro and Ava.
Corey Patterson as well…

We should have a bit of coin to spend....

Ava = Taqele
Sorry

@Demps and 851, If we swap players and they are still on a contract with us for say 1year do we have to pay them out,or make up the difference in someway.just asking because I don't know how it works properly….

Depends….
In some cases if we release, we pay their salary for the other club.
Like with the Bryce Gibbs situation.

However I think contracts can be "bought out" by other clubs

Yes the top 25 for this year was completely off balance. Add to that Lawrence is virtually a passenger all season. No wonder we were in trouble as soon as we starting losing a few backs a few into the season. I hope that there is some one in WT bright enough to correct it for next season.

As I have said previously , if we could get Austin's passing game to the same level of Brooks passing game he is a better player than either Brooks or Moses

The reason his passing game is not much chop is because he doesn't pass it very often
Seriously though he still needs to work on his defence for mine - I know he has been shuffled around every week but he's often caught out of position and leaving a hole for somebody else to cover.

Will you be organizing the black arm bands when Moltzen is finally gone ??

Happy, how the hell can a guy who has always played in the halves, not have a good passing game? A poor kicking game I can understand but passing????

Because his running game is as good as any other half in the NRL , that's why

Answer my question please

In a full strength team , I'd take Moses over Austin any day . Austin is too erratic . I've watched Austin play for Penrith , Windsor & now us . When a team has under performed like we have this year anyone that has half a go will stand out (Austin) . I'd still like to keep Austin as a utility value but Moses is the first choice at 5/8 IMO .

I did CQ

Teams are taking the chance that they can improve his passing game because his running game is that good

His running game is better than JT's and Suttons

Tell me 3 tries you can remember that Austin has set up with his passing game and what I mean is where the pass created the try

I can remember one and commented on it

"Teams are taking the chance that they can improve his passing game because his running game is that good "

There it is! Thank you Happy.

I said how can you be a half and not have a passing game and you said because he's a runner.

After all this time no-one will be able to get him to improve his passing game by now.

I reckon Austin could go great guns in the centres.

Not the best defender but his running game is his best asset. He can be a be very predictable playing in the halves, running across field, throwing a big dummy and taking the line on. Which is a good thing. But, I've seen him do it too often during games and he's blown a few opportunities by hogging the ball instead of feeding the backline.

Austin deserves the #6 jersey, he's bloody well earned it. He's had to sit behind Braith Anasta when he was clearly the better option all year. He's put in 100% in every position he's be asked to play in whether it's been hooker, centre, fullback or in the halves and often looked like the only attacking spark in the side. He handles the media well and has future leader written all over him.

I realise he was brought to the club to bridge the gap between Anasta and Moses, but unfortunately for the club he has already demonstrated to many observers that he's a quality first grade half. He's clearly not in the club's long term plans and shouldn't be forced to hang around another year or forced to play out of position any longer. If another club is interested in him as a starting pivot, then our club should do the right thing and let him go.

I don't get the logic. If Austin has stood out this year, above Moses, why would the start of next year be any different?

I like what i see in Moses in just a handful of games so far . His combination with brooks will only improve . I think Austin has a poor passing game & I'm not that much of a fan ! As I said any player that makes half an effort in this team is going to stand out !
If tedesco stays fit and Farah stops having a sook I see no place for Blake in our spine IMO .
