Tigers confirm Marshall won't be at club in 2021

And Voldemort has to weigh in just to rub insult into injury:

Gary Jack stuck the boot into the front office as to how they handled this on the news earlier. I don't agree with how the club handled it, I thought we were beyond things such as this but it's done now and the club needs to do better.

He must be the go to guy now. Last week it was blasting management over the jerseys. He should stick to counting his money and keep his mouth shut.

Why can't these legends remain what they are and not go to people for a head line

He was probably asked what he thought

Why?

Although i will give him a tick for having some cahoonies. After the jersey dummy spit he was blasted on the Magpies facebook page - comment after comment he was given a big thumbs down. After about 50 comments he came on the page and explained his situation, pointed out that having played for both Wests and Balmain and still having a soft spot for WT he believed that he had every right and probably more right than most keyboard warriors to have his say on the club.

Except he doesn’t, he has no association with the Wests Tigers. Just an option like everyone else.

I never said he had an association nor did he - he said he had a soft spot and played for both foundation clubs. And just for the record i can't stand Jack and think he is just another Balmain go to guy who is totally irrelevant these days. I was only commenting on his post on facebook.

Wasn’t having a go at you just pointing out that it’s just his opinion like everyone else’s and no more valid than anyone else’s.

The question has to be asked: will the media call out the other 15 clubs if no one signs Benji for next year?
Is it just because he is a Wests Tigers legend? What about The Dragons, Broncos, or Auckland Blues?
Yep he’s done a lot for this club but he hasn’t earned the right to dictate if he gets to play on or not.

Of course they won’t, I can’t believe we were paying $300k a year for him, yes Ivan signed some high priced duds, but Madge re-signed Benji twice, his judgement is highly questionable

Just a thought 19 pages so far for this thread in 3 days Imagine that Covid hadn't happen this year and BENJI dare I say it had to Canterbury Cup the Forum who have gone into meltdown

I have said all along, if we had CC Benji wouldn’t have been dropped, and that is the problem, he should have been dropped for good with Rowdy after their 250th game

Bit harsh Benji has been good for the club and NRL since his return you can tell that from the support he has received however everything has a use by date and when your not cutting the mustard with one if the most important features of the game DEFENCE its time to call it a day and be remembered for all the good he has done and can continue to do off field it will be highly embarrassing if he thinks he can get a start at another club and it doesn't happen go with class we know you have.

Is he allowed to be offered a position with the club, before his contract is up?
Would hate another Robbie fiasco developing.

I believe that others in the playing group are more to blame for our losses than Benji....(.eg a forward who shall remain nameless)- to name just one.

At least Benji does love the club, I'm not saying that he didn't have defensive issues from time to time, missed tackles etc, I think he would have always tried to do his best - sometimes even brilliant, but those times were few and far between.

It's a pity though that he is trying to eek out another year, sometimes you have to know when time's up and retire gracefully.
Good Luck Benji:blush:

"Always tried his best"

Talking about the last couple of years here - he might think he has but sticking your arm out as the opposition player goes past is not "Trying your best."

Basically it is not good enough to get another contract. That is why he didn't.

The simple truth all falls down to math. We have to many average halves to carry another average half. Its not personal its just simple math.

Bang on Russ, that is why he has no offers from other clubs, he was delusional about how good he was going, he is going to have to lower his $300k price, and even then he could still be left without a club, pretty embarrassing really

Give credit where its due, all you haters. Did i read somewhere that Benji is high up on the try assists stat in the NRL. I am pretty sure he has been responsible for most of our tries this season. My concern is that without him where are the points going to come from
