I honestly can't see another club picking up Benji for 1 final year at the age of 35. I love Benji and what he has done for rugby league and our club, but far out it's time to let it go. The bloke couldn't get us into the finals consistently at his prime, he can't when he is in the twilight of his career. It's either off to the ESL or retirement for Benji. If the shoe was on the other foot the media would be bashing us for re-signing a 35 year old play maker and stifling the progress of someone like Madden. Thanks for everything Benji, but it's time to go.

Any chance the ‘contract on the table’ was a min wage one to join the squad as depth next year?
Any chance that Benji and his manager have been agitating at getting a larger contact and a bigger role in the Club next year.

He did pretty well, but he said he can offer some leadership and tutor young halves, on what is he basing this on, the wonderful job he had done with Brooks.
He also said he is happy with his attack, but has a few defensive issues he has worked on, he just doesn’t see it

Benji seemed very matter of fact saying it’ll be 28 next season. I hope it stays at 30, the POM said clubs weren’t sure a week or two ago
