DESPITE their insistence on backing their talented youth, the Tigers are set to make a splash in the transfer market by targeting off-contract duo Ryan Morgan and Ethan Lowe.
The Tigers have surprised many with their 3-3 start to open the year and new coach Jason Taylor is happy with the way his squad has performed, but is reportedly keen to bolster his depth on the edge.
Second-rower Lowe is in the best form of his career right now and is flourishing playing around stars Johnathan Thurston, Matt Scott and Gavin Cooper. But the Cowboys will struggle to match the offers from rival clubs after recently signing Jason Taumalolo and Michael Morgan to lucrative multi-year deals.
The acquisition of Lowe at the Tigers would be a big coup for the club who boast one of the best young forward packs in the comp.
The Tigers have also identified versatile centre Morgan as a target following reports the Eels will most likely not offer him a new deal.
The 24-year-old, who can also play in the second row, would provide plenty of depth for the Tigers and would prove a handy replacement for off-contract centre Tim Simona, who is being chased by up to four clubs.
Taylor is desperate to retain Simona who has been one of the Tigers best this season but faces some stiff competition on the open market.
Along with Simona, the Tigers are also hoping to lock up hard-running forward Ava Seumanufagai.
