Honestly, I think thats a really good side - with the right coach, some luck with injuries, and effort from the team next year, theres no reason as to why this side should not be a top 8 side

That's a nice looking side…
 
While I don't think Moltzen is as bad as many on here say I still don't think he is up to being a first grade fullback. Doesen't make enough meters, doesen't break enough tackles, only had 1 try assist for the year - I did some stats comparing the full time fullbacks for each club from the RLW and Big League end of yr specials and Moltzen was down the bottom of nearly every stat for fullbacks but the 3 that stood out most were those I mention above where his comeptitors were all making over 100m a game compared to 68 for timmy, they were generally having twice as many if not 3 times as many tackle breaks a game and the best ones were all making many more try assists - he just isnt a first grade fullback.

To me his best position is five eight and I don't think he earns a spot thier in our team even with benji at halfback. I would put him as the bench back next yr. I know many don't like the bench back but I think their was about 10-15 games this yr where the bench back played most of the game and to me that makes it a valuable position because otherwise your forward roster is messed up and I for one don't see us needing 4 forwards on the bench given the limited number of interchanges. However he will be competing with Bodene Thompson for the bench back spot who can play both - although Moltzen gives u more utility in the backs

Why are people continuously naming Jennings? Those sides will look awfully silly if he doesn't sign, which he most probably won't. At least wait till he actually signs a contract, then including him will be a bonus
 
I haven't seen enough of the 20s to say who could handle 1st grade with the exception of Marika and Miller. Sold on Koroibete but still don't rate Miller.

Bench from- BMM, Bell, Pettybourne, Utai, Ayshford, 1 or 2 NYC players?

If Tedesco didn't do his ACL in round 1 I believed the Marshall/Moltzen combo would have gelled. Moltzen is no fullback but I still think he can make a good fist of 7.
I know I'm probably about to cop it but hey….

forgot. If we do end up snatching up Jennings on some imaginary back ended contract then I'd pair him with Rowdy, moving Siro onto the bench.
Maybe I should throw my hat in the ring for head coach, sounds easy. lol

Anasta can't play lock. It's an in the middle or "TIGHT" position. Anasta can only therefore play 2nd row, if he is selected in the forwards. Which means more than likely Blair will play lock, assuming he makes the team. Fulton is a much more natural 2nd rower, that has great lateral defence & runs great lines esp. off Benji. BMM & pettybourne could also play lock.

Reasoning for leaving out some players Just due to the fact that the bench is real strong, moltz can cover a lot of positions very well and can slot into half if miller is having a tough time also with tedesco and moltz sometimes can spark benji into form with inside balls etc would be good to be used as a better humble for example..
Why utai was left out just because I dont think he fits, love the guy and his attitude but is he in over koro or tuquiri if his form in a lower grade said yes then let him in.
Bell can replace petty or bodene if need be.

Seems like a reasonable looking team to me. I think that all things being equal something pretty close to that will start off 2012\. Someone like Groat might come back into contention if he has a fantastic off season. I tend to agree that Moltzen offers a lot more utility than Utai but I guess it will depend on how the new coach plans to use the bench. Some coaches prefer to use 4 forwards.
