'ol wishy washy humpty…..comes across as solid as a rock in this eh?

"There's been no official conversations _and I don't think_ it's going to happen."

I kind of cringed when I read that. I wish he left the second part out.

This is about Lui maybe the guy should converse with the people that matter ! if he wants out to move back with family no problems i'm sure the club won't be to concerned if this is a life change issue. What I don't like is these things are played out in the media maybe managers of players should know how to knock on Club CEO's doors rather than there mates in the media!

Call me paranoid lads, but seriously I swear that someone with some pull who LOVES Parramatta/HATES the Tigers is trying to disrupt the boys preparation before Eels Games by making sure articles regarding players leaving are always posted on the eve of the game.

Last time something like this happened, was when we last played the Eels it was Moltzen leaving to go to the Dragons posted Friday PM, which caused a stirr, and we played the worst game of the year against them, going down 22-6 in a game where the scoreline flattered Parramatta.

Meh.. We'll still win and win big today.

You're paranoid underdog, but I think I am as well. It's a tad fishy for this to come out now, considering this rumour has been doing the rounds on the forum here for some time.

Go on ya Telegraph, Must be struggling for stories….. I can't see this happening next year maybe after his contract is up....... Good work telegraph....

GO YOU MIGHTY TIGERS! :sign:

I don't know, a few people were adamant that Heighno and Ryan were done deals for the Panthers and they are staying.

The Tigers depth in the halves will practically be eradicated if Lui is allowed to leave. Outside of Miller the Tigers have no depth in the halves IMO.

Lets just say Willow some in the know, know the truth behind Rhino and Ryan ,but they are staying so lets move on.As for Lui,i think Peter Parrs comment sums it up. If Lui Is wanted he stays ,otherwise the Cowboys are ready to sign him.

How things change, @ the start of the year we werre saying how much depth @ half back we had & some people wanted to let Lui go. Now no Molltzen & if Lui goes big trouble no depth, this will be interesting, I think he will stay & when his contract expires @ the end of next year he will be gone.

Maybe Lui wants to head back home with his family to be with the extended family ? So if that's the case then I am sure the club won't stop him and I am sure the Cowboys would pick him up.

It all really gets back to the cap & whether we can afford Lui next year to see out his contract.
If so,no point in letting him go early as despite his significant defensive lapses (only Soward is worse,& he plays for NSW!)he'll still be first choice at no 7 in 2012 round one…but by the end of next season one or both of Sironen or Miller will demand a starting slot in the halves,so at $200k Lui will be running around in JBC
Hopefully its all going perfectly to plan....with Lui needing to commit himself in defence rite now to secure his long term future elsewhere.
Everyone cld be a winner if theres $$ left in the cap

I have been dreading this moment for sometime…
Not many Qlders would prefer Sydney over the sunshine state :frowning:
He is from townsville and they have been without a decent 6 for sometime,
Although Ray Thompson seems to be coming along
I feared it was only a matter of time......
I rate Lui, and would love to see him with a couple years with the Tiges...
But if his heart isn't here, then all the best to him!!
I'll be glad to say I watched his entire career in 10 or so years time.

Wests Tigers halfback Robert Lui is in line to become the latest player squeezed out of Concord after being linked to a return home to North Queensland Cowboys.

Despite being on a contract worth $200,000 for next season, Wests Tigers are considering releasing Lui as they continue to restructure their playing roster.

The Lui development comes two months after the Tigers were forced to confront major internal issues when a number of senior players were told they were free to look for alternative clubs for 2012.

Senior players Chris Heighington, Beau Ryan and Liam Fulton were all tapped on the shoulder before sorting things out to remain at the Tigers, while utility back Tim Moltzen (St George Illawarra), props Andrew Fifita and Bryce Gibbs (Cronulla) and fullback Wade McKinnon (Hull) were allowed to leave.

At one point, the situation looked to have the potential to destabilise their season with talk of player unrest. However, the Tigers have re-grouped after some mid-season ructions and are even pressing for a top-four spot with a favourable run home.

They will be looking for their sixth straight win on Sunday when they host Parramatta at the SFS.

Tigers chief executive Stephen Humphreys tried to hose down talk of Lui leaving, but the move has been discussed.

"He's under contract for next year and that's what we expect to be honoured," Humphreys said.

"There's been no official conversations and I don't think it's going to happen."

Born in Townsville, Lui and his partner Taleah Backo both have family in the region and the possibility of moving back home has been on the halfback's radar since the Tigers and Cowboys clashed in Townsville in round 19.

If Lui does leave, the halfback would become the fifth high-profile Tigers player to be granted an early release in the past three months.

In the same time-frame, the Tigers have signed Melbourne Storm forward Adam Blair, Parramatta centre Joel Reddy and Penrith prop Matthew Bell as part of a major overhaul.

Lui's exit would open up a pathway to the NRL for talented Toyota Cup players Jacob Miller and Curtis Sironen.

Cowboys chief executive Peter Jourdain and football manager Peter Parr both said they had heard the Lui rumours but at this point the halfback was under contract with the Tigers.

"I'm not aware of the Tigers being willing to release him or anything like that, but if they were willing to release him then I would have the appropriate conversations with Neil Henry and other people in our footy department," Parr said.

"I've heard the rumours.

"If he was to become available, or wanted to explore the options of getting back up north, then I would suggest we'd have a look at it.

"But as it stands at the moment, that's a hypothetical because he's under contract with the Tigers."

I'm not as convinced as everyone else that he isn't going…....

Either way, you wont ever have it confirmed until it has actually happened, so we might as well get on with life and footy and continue winning.

Lets worry about next year when it gets here!!!!

Gee first we lost Scott Price 'cause he was homesick now Lui…..what's with our #7's isn't playing alongside the worlds best player enough to keep 'em here?...I hope Jacob Miller is from Sydney!!

I agree 1/4\. If it had come out that they knew who killed JFK all he would have broken loose.
