Tigers need 'fresh start': Robbie Farah

I don't think the article has told me anything i didn't expect to hear or anything i didn't want to hear. Fact is Robbie is being realistic here. WT's have a lot of work to do before he commits to them long term. Employing the right coach will help a lot and Robbie hearing the new coach's plans for the future will help too. This thing just needs to run it's course. I don't think it'll be a quick process but the sooner a new coach is found the better.

The main thing is that he sorts his future out quickly - the last thing we need in 2013 is another "Prince saga " undermining our season.

Totally agree Pete , shouldn't be a quick process either Take your time Robbie , you need a solid phsyical and mental break mate

Even if Robbie was to leave he wouldn't tank it like Prince or Teo did

Totally agree with both. And while I think Robbie is paying some respect to Sheens, I also don't doubt he would be looking favourably at a new coach and a new future for the club that he proudly captains. I would be surprised if he leaves.

Its not up to you tho….its up to Humpty, and he wanted Ryan - as he wants Farah.....but we know where ryan now is

Yeah he wanted wanted Ryan for whAt he's worth not overs , he would you prefer Ryan or koro, for me koro has shown in 5 games what we are lacking

We paid overs for Pettybourne & Anasta, Blair…as for footy ability I agree but its not the point in this topic

I just find it hard to be confident anymore with his skills in renegotiating the players we REALLY want to keep

$200k a year for Anasta is not overs,Pettybourne I have no idea what he is on,and $500k for Blair is just BS

Anasta: $200k…Beau would be on more than that, you can guarantee BA is on much more, he is a leading senior NRL player, hes at the top of the tree.

Pettybourne:
http://www.smh.com.au/rugby-league/league-news/ending-on-a-high-with-rabbitohs-is-no-trivial-matter-for-pettybourne-20120905-25ewe.html
........While keen to keep him at Redfern, South Sydney were unable to match the money on the table at the Tigers, which Pettybourne could not deny his family...............
Blair: BS eh....so what IS he on?
Hes on top dollar, hes an international, and for what hes deliverd, 200 is overs.

From what I have seen in the media, what he has been saying about his future hasn't been really convincing to me.
You can take this with a grain of salt if you want but a friend of my friend knows Robbie Farah and he is seriously considering the Eels after next season. :frowning:

Of course he would be considering it, he doesn't know who's coaching, he doesn't know if he'll be interested in being coached by whoever they get. Might be better if we did get Folkes, considering he knows the players. Robbie may be more comfortable with his future at the Tigers with Folkes here.

So you'd rather a player like benji that would follow sheens blindly with an immature loyalty despite however negative it may be for him without him even knowing it?

Or would you prefer a player that weighs up all possibilitys, thinks long hard and carefully about all scenarios before reaching a decision?

I want a player that looks at everything in his life with a careful consideration that will translate to his footy on the field…..not some gooey love struck teen like player who is blindly devoted

Youre dissin him and he aint even gone....christ! :brick:

Agree Ink. It's about time that someone in the playing group acknowledged that changes needed to happen. Farah owes the club nothing, he's more than paid his dues here.

cool so let him go and we will find someone else, the love fest for him is sickening his kicking game is pathetic at best , often leaves us in horrible field position, 5 steps behind cam smith

Yeah let's let him go, and who will you pin the blame on in 2013 when we collect the spoon?

While we're at it, let's give Marshall, Fulton and Woods the arse shall we?

Geez one half baked claim and MTD is hooked. Sounds like sour grapes before he's even signed elsewhere

One minutes its his loyalty, then its his kicking game….whats next MTD?
Bloody hell some people have no idea - really

I thik you're way off the mark too MTD. Robbie has said nothing other than he will weigh everything up once the dust settles out Concord way. Sounds eminently sensible to me. If we have a muppet as coach then obviously he'll walk - who wouldn't? Give him a good coach, sound roster and a clear plan for the club going forward, my money would be on him staying. He's the second best rake in the business and I for one hope he stays. Let's just everyone take a breath and let the process take its course. We'll all know soon enough.

I am glad you are not in charge of hiring/firing MTD we would be odds on for the spoon every year. All Robbie has stated is that things need to change and he will examine his options, that dosent mean he is going.Without Robbie we would be very one dimensional(iosefa is not first grade standard).

He should weight up all his options and take what's best for him. Re-signing with us when we don't know who our coach will be, who we are signing or who we are letting go isn't loyalty it's stupid.

I'm sure that we will have every chance of keeping him, it's up to us to deliver.

Quick to write him off. Robbie is a loyal clubman, puts in every week and picks the team up after every defeat. I don't know if that's enough for you mtd, but I honestly think it's worth more than a kicking game to Cam Smith standard.

Farah has carried our team for years. If he leaves it will be a disaster IMO.
