The boys had some beautiful moments in the pre-season games, they pass the ball around really well but 2 intercepts. What’s going on with that? Any ideas? And what would we like to see them doing about it?

Common sense would say, try and pick their moments...The boys had some beautiful moments in the pre-season games, they pass the ball around really well but 2 intercepts. What’s going on with that? Any ideas? And what would we like to see them doing about it?
Run straight then draw and pass, not just stand and pass.Passing the ball is great, but only gets you somewhere if there’s an overlap or if there’s a player who can get on the outside of his man or bust a tackle etc. The point is without first stretching the D, or alternatively sucking in the D it is too easy for the opposition to mark up. We must create some go forward first, get the opposition back peddling, create some havoc in the middle with runs that get over the advantage line and quick ptb’s.
This was the problem last week, too much side to side and not enough tough straight running and momentum. Api needs to get us on the front foot and rolling down the field - then we can start playing “touch footy”.
But if you lose the first 5 games you have less chance of gaining momentum in the rounds after that unfortunately, then when you’re over that loss feeling and you win a few, it’s too late.. you’re 9th.You know, I wasn't all that upset with the style.
The issues I saw were mostly with players getting in the way/not expecting or ready for a pass (was taught even if you're a dummy runner, be ready to catch it).
I'm just guessing, but it looks like Brooks simply has to make it clear to everyone what play they're running.
I also think a large part of this is down to both he and Api playing zero trial minutes; That's why at this stage I'm not too concerned.
Ideally they should be ready and firing for round one, but you don't win many premierships in March. Still, you get 2pts for winning in round 1, you get 2pts for winning the last game.
Completely agree. It's why I alluded to getting the same amount of points no matter the round. But if you lose the first 5 games you have less chance of gaining momentum in the rounds after that unfortunately, then when you’re over that loss feeling and you win a few, it’s too late.. you’re 9th.

Top teams can afford to iron out the wrinkles and build throughout the season because they know they'll beat at least half the comp, but the tigers don't have that luxury.
Just hope they can get it together asap, because their draw gets tougher soon.
I’m just praying we can get the 2 points from the game v bye.Knights

Bye - tough one
Yes and no TT. Still room for improvement with pass selection eg Brooks twice cost us a try with poor pass options close to the line. No real flow across the backline. The passing was fine last week, it was the catching that let us down.
This really needs to be reinforced if Brooks is staying in the side.(was taught even if you're a dummy runner, be ready to catch it).
Yep. Return of the 100kph pass into the lead runner last week - it must've put in a big pre season! This really needs to be reinforced if Brooks is staying in the side.
Like I said previously, last week was basically a third trial when 2 of the spine hadn’t played. You know, I wasn't all that upset with the style.
