Tigers Pull Out Of Takairangi Deal

He never signed in the first place. It's just amateur bloggers and crap journos getting their language mixed up.

'Agreeing to terms' doesn't equal 'signing'. Big difference.

Nothing wrong with discussions but unless there's a signed piece of paper involved those discussions don't mean a thing.

Even if there is a signed piece of paper, there may have been a covenant in there saying that the signing was subject to approval of the new coach.

Cultured bogan, you could be right, how can anyone sign players without the coaches say so,may as well try and coach a team of "well this is what you got"we made the decision for you,now go out there and win a premiership..

Players for a top squad of 30 should be up to the coach,he has to win games with the stock he chooses…

Wins and Losses will therefore be his glory or failures, nobody else's .. :bash :sign: :sign:

So didnt Mick Potter have any say in the signings of Keith Lulia, Pat Richards, Marty Tapau, and Corey Patterson? I thought he was involved in the signing of all those players. Fairly sure he had links with Lulia, and Richards in the UK - and that was pretty much our 2014 recruitment. Just asking - I assumed they were all targeted by Potter.

The cowboys have released Tim Glasby and Joel Riethmuller from their contracts today. Wonder if one or both are coming our way?

Tim Glasby ??

He played for the Storm in 2014

Sure he lined up for Easts Tigers in Qld Cup as he is from Rockhampton and played a few games for the Storm off the bench

Glasby was singed by the Cows for 2015 Happy… i think furgie is saying they have released him....might have something to do with then signing Hannant?

Fair enough

Not a big fan of either Reithmuller or Glasby

They aren't any better than either Sue ,Thompson or Sironen in my opinion

Happy- I am going to disagree with you there. Reithmuller would be a good addition to our squad. We all talk about replacing Fulton with a workaholic backrower - well Reithmuller is that. Good on the edges, high work rate and defends well and has mongrel in him (not stamping on players i mean ) . I would much rather have him lining up in the backrow than Sirro ( who should come off the bench unless he has a massive off-season).

Glasby on the otherhand has been released so he can stay at Melbourne.

In light of Takairangi, I believe if the reports are true, that we missed out on decent player who covers centre and backrow just as well however I would not pay overs for him to move to us. If true that we have gone back on the deal, I reckon Moss would of had a big say in that in regards to salary cap and what he can offer us on the deal that was presented to him. Doesnt bother me either way if we got him or lose him.

However Reithmuller is one that I would go for if the price was right.

GNR,apparently negotiations are still ongoing with Bodene and the Wests Tigers, from the reports I heard coming out of Campbelltown he wants to stay with the Tigers….

You would really have to work on his motor Chip

He doesn't usually play big minutes , and the player ideally suited for that role can play big minutes
