Tigers set to shut doors to Leichhardt

Ring the club and enquire about the chance of pre-purchase as a non ticketed member Al

Smeg,
Thanks but I have rang the club… basically the deal is non-ticketed members are treated exactly the same as the general public.
So to put that into perspective i'm being treated the exact same way they would treat fans from any club even a sharks fan [if there is any].
Nobody can tell me that is not disgusting!!

the 05 GF? mate, the atmosphere that night was dead, it was non-exsistant as most GF's usually are as a good number are usually made up of corporates and supporters of other teams who didn't sell their tickets. The 05 GF is a poor example

Ridiculous response. Seriously, if WT want to boost memberships, they should have tickets go on sale to members at least a few days before going to the general public. That would be a great incentive to sign up!

In my opinion the order of preference in terms of ticket availability should be:
1\. Tigers ticketed members
2\. Tigers non-ticketed members
3\. Away team's members
4\. General public

That is pretty bad and not the answer I would have expected

Yeah, as far as i'm concerned its not right… they are totally not even considoring people from outside Sydney let alone caring for them...

I'm extremely disappointed in the Wests Tigers management.
The thing is they won't even tell you when they will go on sale to the general public, I also called Proticket and they don't even know when the Tigers will release tickets so they can sell them.

But I will definately be trying to get tickets whenever they do go on sale, that is for sure.

Tiger_Al, i was in the same boat.I had organised a trip from Goulburn 10 blokes on a bus.
Just cancelled it.
Blokes not very happy but this is just the way it is.
Not much I can do.

This is not the clubs fault, people choose to get non Ticketed Packages and that choice has left them in this predicament. It was their personal choice at the time of purchase non ticketed packages not the clubs choice.People just have to deal with their poor choices.Dry your eyes.

My Kids and i are the only ones going now because we are Ticketed Members.I feel this is a small price to pay for a Wests Tigers Only sold out Liechhardt Oval.It will be a day to remember.

I can't wait till round 1 only 11 days to go. :sign:

Azsportza, Dry your eyes bud you should have got your Membership long before now.You are a fair weather Fan.

My eyes are quite dry. I am not a fair weather fan please. If I wasn't a true fan of the club I would have not driven 1 hour and 40 minutes to Gosford for a trial match, in the pouring rain.

The reason I don't have membership is because the NRL can not tell me what days games are in into the future. With uni commitment planning ahead without days of games makes it hard. I am not saying the normal membership is bad, but this season opener business is not warranted on families. Average family of four, it's now going to be $240\. I just hope come Thursday there is Tickets left.

I don't know the price range of all the different packages so i'm willing to stand corrected, but i'll assume that non ticketed packages are cheaper then ticketed packages, which again you don't know the reasons why someone would choose non-ticketed over ticketed. Could be for financial reasons or it could be beacause some are interstate and only make it down here once or twice a year. One thing is for sure though, your riding a very high horse in this thread, looking down on people telling them to dry their eyes. Your a member and obviously this is to your advantage, but there are many for a variety of reasons who aren't in the position you are and don't deserve to be spoken down to. Wake up to yourself

You know what Frazer your entitled to your opinion… but obviously this is an unforseen situation that was not present when people like myself bought the non-ticketed memberships.

Wests Tigers at no stage when they began selling this years memberships stated that they would bring this type of membership which would basically freeze out every other person.

If the club had informed people when they were calling for membership renewals that this was going to happen maybe people would have taken different options with they're hard earned cash!

And by the way... not everyone who lives out of Sydney can afford to get full ticketed memberships and all the travel it would entail.

LaT & Demonborger, bad luck to Mr Gallop. No percentage should be keep for outside supporters. If people miss out bad luck. They should have got there Memberships earlier than now.

As for people not being able to afford it,IMO this is rubbish they have had 170 days (5 Months and 17days) to organise there Memberships. That is $0.38 cents per day for the $65 dollar price.
Any budget should be able to afford $0.38 cents per day.

IMO the fair weather FANS miss out and the True Supporters (Members) are rewarded.

Dry your eyes all you fair weather FANS and shark supporters. Members are more important to the Wests Tigers than you lot.

Mr Humpries you are a Genius, well done.

Iron Tiger you are correct Rothfield will be blowing up deluxe.

That comment is really poor form.
Who are you to be calling people fair weather fans and saying they are lying about not being able to afford membership.
You have no idea about other peoples situations and what they can or can't afford.
The more money you have doesn't make you more of a supporter.
If people could afford the membership they would buy it, do you not realise people have other expenses in their lives.

It is detrimental to the point of having the Stripes membership if they do not get some help from the club on little issues like this.

In fact it goes against the ethos of the membership to become one with the club. From what I saw the out of towners is a family pass which would not cater to everyone and obviously Al signed up before this one match option was available.

I like the idea of trying to drum up memberships and raise membership numbers but it is not right that a non ticketed member is treated like every other supporter. They have stepped up in the best way they could and contributed to the club and that contribution should be rewarded with at least a small thing like priority after ticketed member purchasing for this game

Simon, you're right we were outnumbered but we destroyed them for volume

Al - just had the same conversation and it is very dissppointing. However, this is the first time they've run this sort of thing and i'm prepared to cut them a bit of slack as this being an unthought through consequence. Certainly the 3 people I ended up talking too agreed with the point that non-ticketed's should get preference to buy tickets but couldn;t do anything about it.

Whilst these three promised they would pass the feedback on I'm also going to write an email to the powers that be (all levels) making the suggestion and I would encourage you (and anyone else) to do the same thing. Everyone/organisation makes mistakes. They can;t fix them however unless people let them know. It may be too late for this time but I think the next time they'll probably do the right thing.

Thanks Softlaw, I have already emailed the club memberships area [without a response at all].
Sounds like you might of got a hold of someone better than I did, they basically told me thats the way it is and thats it.
