Tigers Set to Sign Kiwi International Brown

Huh? Rangi Chase showed flashes here but then went to England. Laffranchi and Prince went after the cash, simple and plain. I mean, didn't the Titans pay Prince with a house??? Laffranchi hit his stride at a time when we had a glut of emerging players coming through.

There needs to be an inquest into the recruitment of John Morris and the amount of time he spent at this club though. Sheens' absolute worst decision, above playing Lawrence in the halves.

I had completely forgotten he played lower grades for us.

He has been very handy in the back row for a few years now.

Just another reason to hate Tim Sheens. My god his recruiting and retention was abysmal.

Who did Sheens let go who went onto better things? Apart from Brown, who has only really been a fringe first grader for ten years, the only other I can think of is Fifita and his attitude stunk. Moa has done okay but he struggled to play first frade at Sharks before going to England.

Clubs lose players of the calibre of Lewis Brown every year. Look at our side. Tapau, Naqaima both couldnt crack first elsewhere and have killed it here.

Happens every year.

Rangi Chase , Laffranchi , Prince ,

Sheens let Laffranchi and Prince go? Thats a new one. Next he will be blamed for letting Mitchell Pearce go I guess.

Chase was a fringe first grader who never made it in a struggling Dragons side. Look at Tomkins - killed it in ESL- but is only a good player over here.

Did we ever renew Morris's contract? I didnt think so. Initial decision was wrong but once they are on your books, they are hard to get rid of.

Anasta was a poor signing. I would have said Pettybourne too but he is killing it at the Titans this year.

Lolesi turned out to be a poor buy but most were stoked with the purchase at the time.

On the other side of the coin - Hodgson, Ellis, Prince, Payten - were all superb buys.

Lol Brown was a reserve grade hooker behind Farah and wasn't flash tbh, seriously blaming Sheens for not keeping him is a joke.

We don't want a centre/backrower we just want and need a pure specialist centre. We have had enough hybrid players over the years to last a freaking lifetime.

How about Wests Tigers making an offer to Dane Neilsen now that he has been released from Dragons? He would be a bargain.

No way. He is deadset the definition of a player who has gotten worse with experience.

He was abysmall at the warriors and showed no sign of improvement at the dragons.

I would rather play keithy in the centres..

Wasn't Nielsen released for performing an abhorrent act on a female? If so, is that someone that is worthy of wearing a WT jumper?

Not only that he failed in NZ and couldn't crack top grade at the Dragons regularly. No thanks based on his on and off field actions.

He bit a girl on the leg at a night club…..

Hardly an abhorrent act.....drunk, stupid but not the end of the world.

Ive done far more stupid things and not lost my job cos of it.

Saints have been pretty cruel IMO....they have now got a cheaper bloke in Aitken and they have had a chance to get rid of the bloke, save some cash and have swooped on it.

There's seems to be a lot of hypocrisy with NRL clubs like St George Illawarra. They sign Josh Dugan who certainly does not have an unblemished record of public conduct. He becomes a real star for them and they keep him. They sign Nielsen to a contract but he plays only games for them in which plays disappointingly commits a public misdemeanor and they sack him. It's nowhere near a loss for the Dragons however because they recoup the contract financial loss and have enough to offer a good contract for their up and coming centre Shaun Aiken.

West Tigers critics of Nielsen's private life should remember that they have a player named Lodge in their ranks who has not exactly conducted himself like a choirboy.

But the Dragons found a solution didn't they

Euan Aitken kills it while Dane Nielsen is stood down

Aitken plays just as well and is being paid far less

Bye Bye Nielsen

The better you are at something, the more slack you get cut, it is unfair, but true in all facets of life.

People put up with more crap from good looking people, the best lawyer can rock up late for work and the best footballers get second and third chances.
