Tigers sign Another English Backrower...Mark Flanagan

Yeah exactly. Many teams do it. Brisbane have Joel Clinton (overrated) and Nick Kenny (underrated IMO) starting and Dave Taylor off the bench or mixing those three around. Melbourne was a good example too.

When youre at a game and you see the opposition's starting prop go off, most of the time you're like *phew* but then you get guys like Brent Kite as their replacement and youre like :astonished: I also reckon the Warriors do it well, they've got size way across the pack and on the bench.

I reckon if Daine Laurie can get his head on straight and show determination to perform consistently and keep a first grade spot he'll have the same impact. Galloway comes off and is then replace by Laurie. That way we'll have a constant battle in the forwards rather than 20mins here and there.

Yes, the Warriors have been a real threat this season!

It's not the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight in the dog.

I cant believe how many people on here have been putting this young pom in our top 30.
The club has not even announced the signing as yet.
The guy has only played a handful of games in Super League for Wigan otherwise he is a reserve grade player over there.
Some people on here didnt even rate Ellis before he came over and now want a reserve grade pommy to be in our top 17.
Sorry guys, this wont happen (although please feel free to shoot me down if it does  )

We have better juniors for which should be given a go ahead of this bloke. Okay signing for squad depth but that would be about it.

Wests Tigers may not have confirmed it, but his current coach has.. from the official superleague website:

**Flanagan agrees Australia move
Friday 18th September 09**
>
Wigan Warriors coach Brian Noble has revealed that young forward Mark Flanagan will make his farewell appearance at the DW Stadium on Sunday.
>
Noble has confirmed that 21-year-old loose forward Flanagan will become the second Englishman in Australia’s National Rugby League in 2010 after agreeing a move to Wests Tigers.
>
The former Bradford player, who is the son of ex-Great Britain loose forward Terry Flanagan, has agreed a two-year deal with the Tigers, where he will link up with England second rower Gareth Ellis.
>
Flanagan, who is out of contract with the Warriors, made his engage Super League debut at Celtic Crusaders in June and has appeared in the club’s last seven matches.
>
“It’s a fabulous opportunity and it would have been wrong to try and persuade him to stay,” said Noble.
>
“It’s the right decision for Mark, the right decision for us and the right decision for Wests.”
>
Flanagan will be vying with Michael McIlorum for a substitute spot against Castleford Tigers, with hooker Mark Riddell and stand-off Sam Tomkins both returning to the side.
>
Riddell missed last Sunday’s 48-16 defeat at Huddersfield after returning to Australia on compassionate leave while Tomkins rested an ankle injury.
>
The winners of Sunday’s second sudden-death tie will earn an away game in the preliminary semi-finals of the new-look play-off system.
