Tigers sign McKinnon - effective immediately

Don't get me wrong, I rate McKinnon very, very highly! He is a super-quality footballer and is otherwise a fantastic acquisition for the club.

But I can't help but think of the following:
- what about Mullaney? Ok, yes the kid is young and can spend the rest of the year in the reggies, but not forever
- what about Meany? This guy is deadset on fire! He is leading the table-topping BRET side to massive victories and kicking goals from all over the park.
- what about Tuqiri and Ryan?
- what about brown?

someone has to lose out here. I don't envy sheens' position at the moment in regards to selections.

They can't be that good if fitzy is playing fullback?

I daresay Fitzhenry, Brown and Daniella have options in the Tigers' favour after one year. We aren't going to be stuck with this situation long term.

I was looking forward to Meaney cracking first grade though. I think Meaney and MacKinnon are remarkably similar players.

What up & comers? I think far too many people on here give wraps to players in u20s & BRET. I know sheens has a bad record for blooding young players in he's time with us but some of the players mentioned around the traps on here aren't as good as people make out.

And as for the fullback spot everyone was banging on about mcdonnel & gallant and they haven't exactly shone at their new clubs and we currently have fitzy at fullback??.

Mckinnon is a great signing. Little worried about injurie & form but I think he wil go well.

we already signed mitch brown, whos more a fullback than a winger yet has never seen the 1 jersey.
3 wingers, 2 fullbacks in one seasons recruitment….awesome...meanwhile our pack struggles.
Mckinnon will probably play lock
he cant play on friday cause theyre worried about the new sinks in the sheds

we just got tim moltzen back and then some this is massive you will see.we now have another chance of a premiership.our pack when galloway comes back and if big dwyer can continue to perform with gareth and workaholic heighno all staying fit will be fine.

Im going to predict this is gonna be like Matthew Head we sign a player off some knee injuries and he never gets put into first grade by the super coach who felt John Morris was a great player now feels Fitzy is awesome.. do you honestly think he Will drop him after what he said last Friday? not going to happen lets be realistic

Golden you are worse than Bug in terms of criticising the club. This annoys me because I think the club deserves criticism in some respects (the re-recruitment and selection of fitzy, playing a back on the bench). But you guys, by constantly criticising the club over everything, weaken the legitimate points.

Looks like Keppa or Meaney will be playing a different position on Saturday.

Terrific news. Rate the bloke. Should have been playing at the back for NSW in 2007 when Mini got injured. He is IMO the best fullback in the game when he's in top form. Hopefully the change of clubs will see him hitting his straps again.

My comment is that we signed Mitch brown whos more at home at fullback than anywhere else, yet he gets 3 min bursts off the bench- we havent even given hi a go and then this comes along - very opportunistic = haphazard

He was a gun a couple of seasons back, has since picked up a serious knee injury and then spent all his time in reggies at a club on a par with ours….hopefully something miraculous happens very quickly, if not all this excitement will turn to disappointment.

Great signing. Have always rated him.
Never forget that long range try he scored for the Warriors a couple of years back, where he must have literally evaded the whole other team to score( forgot who it was against?) It was magical!

Hopefully he can conjure a try or 2 like that for us!
