Tigers sign McKinnon - effective immediately

dont worry - benji will continue to kick for goal - that would probably only change if Mullaney was in the team - but even then who could be sure.

VERY happy about this.

I was a fan of McKinnon when he blistered the field 3 years ago, it was Hayne-like.

One thing he will add is the experience and maturity in the backline. Being 29 will not see him making stupid mistakes and gamble decisions.
I'm licking my lips and to me it sure does represent some angst within the board at the club to cut the BS and change things up.

With Wade McKinnon available against the Doggies where does this leave Sean Meaney and Mullaney?

Hopefully McKinnon is only used for this year only as I believe Sean Meaney or Mullaney are our long term
solutions at full back given that both can goal kick?

Sheens is sending a message to our lower grade players that no matter how good your form is you will not be picked ahead of his favourites no matter how badly they perform.

Players like Meaney, Davis, Pritchard etc should look for a good at other clubs and like Lima and Hoffman will probably turn into Internationals.

Time for Sheens and Simmons to pack their bags and let Folkes take over.

Folkes would have 4 forwards on the bench at all times and no Fitzhenry wasting space on the wing.

I am a huge fan of Wades,
yes he is second string at the warriors because the current fullback is the N.Z fullback.
Wade is a tough player and will add spark for sure. Great under the high ball, of of the best support players and having hima nd lote running back will creat havoc
1- Wade
2- Lote
3- Lawrence
4 -Ashyford (with a bettr winger outside he will also be more confident)
5- Ryan
6- Benji
7- Lui
Will worry about Moltz next year.

Mixed feelings about this one. Like others, two or three years ago I would have been stoked. While I still think he could regain his old form, WT are not exactly struggling for backs…

McKinnon is an angry fullback. Wasn't he the one that smashed up the sink in the changerooms after being sent off at Campbelltown? Hope he fits in with the rest of the team ok, and has calmed down a bit. (Just a little bit!)

Yes he was,but he shouldn't have been sent, and he got let off,but I am stoked he has signed,I hope this means Fitzy is banished, but I highly doubt it.

We would have to sign another 16 international before Fitzy would play state cup

Are you implying the club didnt want to keep Hoffman? We now know why Melbourne could afford the dollars they offered him as an 18 year old.

I hope McKinnon repairs the sheds after his dummy spit from a few years ago. Thats clearly where the $8M in renovation works was spent

It looks like the Tigers are looking at Wade as a stop gap solution

First reaction was that I like the signing but I am a little cautious about it after a few hours. If he's 90% as good as he went a couple of seasons ago, he'll be a great signing. Great positional play, excellent at taking full advantage of offloads.

Strong player with heaps of NRL form good for the remainder of the season up to him I guess after that.. Poor Ryan of to the Reggies in weeks.

If Sheens picks Moltzen at FB in 2011, that will do me.

Maybe it's because that's how the coaches of the NRL view the state cup….

It's a substandard competition and was recently scrutinised as such in the media.

You have stated 2 players that have left us, what about all the others that left us and did nothing......
