Tigers slam Dragons over Moltzen [update]

It seems it has gone down like this:

Humphreys "Tim Moltzen, you are free to negotiate"

Moltzen "Shattered"….....thinks it through "Okay, I'll look".

Calls St George "I am available".

Dragons sign him and make announcement (as they are entitled to do)

Humphreys "What? I didn't 100% say it. I mean, I told Bryce, Liam, Tim, Fifita, Heignho, Beau, McKinnon all that they could leave. I didn't think they all would. I just thought maybe a few might go. I wasn't 100% sure I meant Timmy Moltzen. Maybe. Damm Dragons, release a statement blaming them......yeah, that will cover me".

Dragons "Ummmmmmm, the player was allowed to leave and we have signed him accordingly. End of story".

Bottom line = one bloke looks unprofessional in all this and he's not Doust.

Yes free to negotiate but the final say goes back to the tigers as hes signed with us for next year and didnt. But who really knows the in and outs of how it went down and what humphreys is talking about.

I'd like to think it was WT who were shafted in all this but based on things that have gone down lately and Humphrey's ever-increasing lack of cred lately, I'd have to agree with you all.

as usual the club preoccupy their time with this meaningless crap that no other club would. seriously who cares that the dragons announced it first??

it was like the rumours earlier in the year. the fact that we made an issue out of it just gave it more juice and ended up being more embarrassing for the club.

maybe we should look at the problems INSIDE the club instead of all the things going on outside it

I had an open mind about Humphreys until he blatantly lied and took us for fools when he released the 2011 jerseys saying the main jersey had its own identity and was a move away from Wests and Balmain.

Then Humphreys spoke at the Wests AGM and told lie after lie. He was like a used car salesman trying his best to sell a dud car. He thinks everyone is an idiot and speaks to them like that. He is sly and deceitful. He has lied directly to the face of one player I know and even shook his hand and looked at him in the eye to tell him his contract was safe. That player then found out that four days earlier he had been directly shopped to Souths and St George Illawarra. Then that player is lied to and told it happened the other way around.

I am lead to believe others were lied to in a similar way with their agents fielding calls from other clubs. The coach denied it was his choice and the CEO denied it as well.

COWARDS.

Or Moltzen

Sometimes Bug I just wish you would piss off and support Newtown or some other dinosaur club. Any excuse to push your agenda about jerseys, home grounds blah blah blah…

We played less then poorly and things are pretty rotten at our club at the moment. But all these accusations against the CEO, the coach and the recruitment officer are crazy. 17 guys were on the field in our jersey tonight and only a couple of them really put in.

Where are the posts about Benji - he was awful. The forwards were very poor, Gibbs did nothing. Rhino was ineffective. If these guys are already thinking about next year then drop them and bring in the future club stars and give them a go.

The performance tonight just supports my belief that it WAS time to move them on. They may love the club, but they don't play (and haven't played for a while) like they love the club.

Tigersmurf,
What about all the other years we have not made the semi's under Sheens?

What is your excuse there? He is the coach mate, it is his job to fire the players up and have them ready to play.

The players are unenthused at kick off time.

The buck stops with the coach who has made the semi's twice in the last 14 years.

There are no excuses. He is a disgrace. Years of his planning has culminated into everything going down rhe gurglar. It will be worse in 2012 and much worse in 2013 because he is a fool of the highest order.

At kick off time the players should be salivating to rip the opponants heads off. Sheens does not have the ability to get the team ready to play. He is an egotist. Scott Prince, Benji, Hodgo and Robbie won that comp for us in 2005 not him.

He is a terrible coach who has ruined the careers of many aspiring first graders. The day he leaves this club will be the proudest moment of my life. I have followed Wests since 1975 and never have I seen a team so un-responsive to a coach, never have I seen a coach so pig headed on his ideas, then he stabs people in the back. The turnaround in 2009 by picking Gallant mid season and his subsequent comment to the media showed the world how stupid and dumb he really was. The man is destroying this club, its time the supporters united as one to have this person put into retirement for good.

To a degree I agree with you. But why do you have to bring all your other arguments into it all the time?

I didn't want him resigned. I would prefer we kept him in junior development, but there were not any better options that I could see.

But when I see a performance like that…..I am furious at the players. They didn't have a dig and it was there for all to see. They shouldn't need Sheens to make them want to play. They get paid good coin to play the game and they get to represent a proud club and its supporters. If that isn't enough to make you stick the ball under your arm and run hard then I am happy for them to be shown the door.

PS. Gallant was never that good!

It is the coach's job to pick a team that is willing to get out there and kill the opposition. To fight for their lives. To play that game like its their last game on earth.

This coach can not do that. The players do not like him. A very key player in our team has not seen eye to eye with him since early 2007\. That player does not speak to him much outside of footy these days.

The place has imploded.

Truth hurts doesnt it?
Fact is all this has only started since Sheens got his new deal & players were told to leave…..dont kid yourself it was before this.
2nd favourites for the comp this year, one point from a grand final last year

.....but they don't play (and haven't played for a while) like they love the club......

....is garbage and is a RESULT of what Sheens & Humpty is doing

All I can say about this is if we dont see a major signing by the end of next week you have to assume that something is seriously wrong and someone up top has to go this isn't normal behaviour for a supposedly professional football team

I agree.

Its time to lay the cards on the table.

I bet no deals have been signed yet though.

It is unfortunate that Moltzen got injured last year and Tuiaki's injury was tragic but to say WT were loyal for continuing to pay wages for little return is absolute rubbish. If WT don't understand the meaning of loyalty how about the word 'honor'. How about honoring a contract or an agreement. What a pathetic joke an NRL contract must be.

i would have thought there was a code between ceo's that you don't announce a signing of a current opposition player on the day that player is playing.
if the release has not been signed off, you certainly don't go and announce it.

but at the end of the day i am glad moltzen is going.
he has ridden of the back of benji's coattails long enough.

good to no longer see him pointing fingers while doing bugger all.
